Stronger Together: POTA Virtual 2020

Welcome to Stronger Together: POTA Virtual 2020, a collection of networking and professional development

opportunities that include our October event, Post Conference Institute on Children & Youth, Post Conference

Institute on Fieldwork/Capstone Education, and Student Scholarship Day spanning four weekends from October

through December 2020.

This year will be a very different conference experience as there will not be any handshakes or hugs. There will

not be any meals shared or casual conversations in the hallways. But there will be warm greetings, there will be

a sense of community, there will be opportunities to engage, and many chances to celebrate each other because

that is what POTA does.

This collection of events represents the hard work of many occupational therapy practitioners, researchers,

theorists, and students who are putting forth their scholarship and best practice ideas in a spirit of professional

community so that we can learn from each other and grow professionally. It also represents the hard work and

dedication of so many individuals who have worked very hard behind the scenes to bring you our first ever

virtual conference experience.

We are a community of occupational therapy practitioners who come together to promote our profession and

support one another because we are stronger together!

Warmest regards and all the best for a virtually amazing conference experience,

Amy Gerney, OTD, OTR/L President, POTA

Traci Herc, MOT, OTR/L Chair, Commission on Conference

Conference Tips- Educational Sessions and events are listed by day and start time.

You may attend any session on any day of the Conference which includes our October event as

well as the two post conference institutes and Student Scholarship Day. Our conference this

year spans four weekends and doesn’t end until December! The five types of sessions that are

offered this year are the pre-recorded poster sessions; the poster round tables, the panel

discussion; the 50-minute session; and the 1 hour 50-minute session.

“Please wear your conference name badge at all times. It is required for meals and admission to all conference

areas.” Sound familiar? This year we are asking that all participants make sure that their name appears

accurately when they log in so that others can network with you more easily. Check out our System

Compatibility Check to maximize your conference experience.
