Peggy Jean Gonzales, 90, of Beaumont, died Monday, July 22, 2019.    She was born on February 6, 1929 to Olevia Marie Schiesler George and Andrew Lee George in Beaumont, Texas. 

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She always made a point to show her family and friends how much she loved them whether it was sending cards and notes,  phone calls,  making birthday cakes, her Christmas mincemeat cookies, or her famous mayhaw jelly!  She was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran

Church and found comfort and strength through her faith and church community. After retiring from First City Bank, Peggy and her husband Boots enjoyed square dancing and traveling around the country in their RV. Peggy was a special lady to so many of us and her love and generosity will be greatly missed. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Camille James “Boots” Gonzales, Jr.; parents, Andrew and Olevia George; in laws, Camille and Geneva Gonzales; brother, Carl George; sister, Betty Nichols; and son, James Lee Gonzales.

She is survived by her son, David Earl Gonzales of Beaumont; grandchildren, Amanda Lee Gonzales Wilson of Austin; Justin Andrew Gonzales and wife, Charissa of Beaumont; Kellie Elizabeth Gonzales Martin and husband, T.J., of Austin; great-grandchildren, Lucas Andrew Gonzales, Lia Denise Gonzales, Josephine Lee Martin, and Marigold Louise Martin; her beloved nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; extended family; and many cherished lifelong friends.
