Bullied Children March, Ride, Rally There will be a Bullied Children March and Ride in memory of Ashleigh Burg and Joe Clyde Daniels this Sat-urday May 19h leaving from the court square in Paris. Line-up begins at 6am and at 9am there will be a march, walk, ride to Henry County High School. After arriving at the high school, the ride will continue to the capitol building in Nashville down Hwy. 641S. to Hwy. 70. There will be a rally at the Capitol in Nashville.

Free Kids Fishing Derby The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge in conjunction with Friends of Tennessee NWR will host a Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 19th from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at 3815 Foundry Hill Road near Puryear. The event will be held at a private pond brimming with large-mouth bass and bluegill to insure a full stringer! Derby registration will begin at 9:30 am with fishing from 10:00 – 12:00. All hooks out of the water at 12:00 pm at which time prizes will be awarded. All participants much pre-register at the refuge office at 1371 Wildlife Drive in Springville, or by phone at 731-642-2091 or by email at [email protected]. This event will be free for kids ages 12 and under, but children must have an adult with them. On the walk to the pond refuge staff and Friends members will host a Fishing Clinic in which kids will be able to learn how to cast, bait a hook, as well as local fish identifica-tion. It is recommended that participants bring their own fishing gear and tackle, however, fishing gear will be provided

for those who don’t have any available. Bait will also be provided by the Friends group. It is also recommended if you want to keep the fish you catch, to bring a stringer or a bucket to take the fish home. For those that don’t want to keep the catch, we will have a cooler to donate your catch to help feed the critters at the LBL Nature Station. To get to the Kids Fishing Derby from Paris, take Highway 641 N. At mile marker 19 turn left onto Park Hill Road. At the end of the road, turn left onto Foundry Hill Road. At the fork, bear left and the derby location will be .5 mile past the fork on the right. Di-rectional signs will be available leading you from Highway 641.

Dr. Kimberlin Book Signing Dr. Danny Kimberlin, local obstetrician and gynecologic surgeon, will be having a book signing, from noon to 3pm, Satur-day, May 19th, at Perrylodgic Brewing Company, 3465 Highway 79 North, Par-is, TN. “From Sea to Shining See: Post-cards from Puka-Puka” is the title of his coffee table book that is filled with more than 300 pages of breath taking images of wildlife and landscapes from around the world. Such an endeavor has been a dream of Dr. Kimberlin’s for more than 50 years. “From Sea to Shining See” has been 25 years in the making. He and his camera have traveled to all 50 states, each of the seven continents, the four oceans, and 97 different countries. He also spent 15 years researching and writing along with 4 years of production. All proceeds from Dr. Kimberlin’s book will go to the World Wildlife Fund and Nature Conservancy.
