Trim a Tree for Wildlife Do you have lots of family in for the Thanksgiv-ing holiday? Take them out to the Ten-nessee National Wildlife Refuge visitor center 1371 Wildlife Dr. for a special craft day called “Trim a Tree for Wild-life” on Saturday, November 26th from 11 am - 3 pm. The center will be filled with craft opportunities to make Christ-mas ornaments out of things of nature

as well as trimming your outdoor tree for wildlife. As always, the entrance to the visitor center and the activities are FREE!

Artifical Turf Use at HCHS Meeting The Henry County Facili-ties and Grounds Committee will host a community-wide public discussion meeting related to the use of artifical turf. Two expert consultants will be on hand to answer questions. The discus-sion will be on Tuesday November 29th at 6pm at the HCHS Testing Center across from the Field House.

No Fines Month at W.G. Rhea Library November is No Fines Month at the W.G. Rhea Library, to show thanks for customers. The library will also be accepting nice children’s books for the Community Book Boxes and plastic bags for Homeless Veterans and Disaster area sleeping bags project in lieu of fines.

Festival of Trees Applications Due The Festival of Trees will be held at 110 W. Washington Street, formerly the Murray-McKenzie Jewelers build-ing thanks to Vickey and Ed Roberts who donated their building to be used for this year’s Festival of Trees. The trees will go up the first week in Decem-ber and applications are due by Friday, November 18th. On Thursday, Decem-ber 6th the DPA will host the Chamber Coffee that opens the Festival of Trees and awards will be presented during the Chamber Coffee. Poplar Street in downtown Paris. The Lioness are serving homemade vegetable beef soup with turkey salad or pimento cheese sandwiches, a drink and dessert for $10 per person. McKenzie Rotary Club AuctionThe McKenzie Rotary Club is hosting their Annual Charity Auction this Sat-urday, November 19th at 10am at the McKenzie High School’s Theatre. Bids will not be accepted by phone and you must bid in person at the auction, which will not be televised this year. All of the proceeds at the auction will benefit the club’s local activities.

Twinkle Ball Tickets for Bethel Uni-versity’s 5th Annual Twinkle Ball are on sale now. The Twinkle Ball will be on Wednesday, November 30th from 6pm to 8pm in the Baker Fieldhouse Gym-nasium on Bethel’s McKenzie campus. The Twinkle Ball gives young girls and their mothers (or someone who is motherly to them) the chance to dress up and celebrate the magic of the holiday season. This year’s theme is “Twinkle Has Visions of Sugarplums” with most activities centered around things asso-ciated with the Christmas ballet, “The Nutcracker.” Tickets are $25 for a moth-er/daughter and mothers with more than one daughter can purchase additional tickets for $7 each. Tickets can be pur-chased at the Bethel University Book-store, but they must be purchased in advance by Monday, Nov. 28.
