PDT’s Creo guy offers his 3D CAD Tip of the Week in an ongoing series for mechanical engineers.
Transcript of PDT Engineering: Creo Tip #023
2
Trajpar Function Step #1: Start out by making a variable section sweep… Make a circular cross section with a diameter of 1 – Note the section is constant over the entire trajectory path…
3
Trajpar Function Step #2: Redefine the variable section sweep and add a trajpar relation to vary the cross section…
Click Tools > Relations…
Type the following relation into the command box
sd3 = 1 + 2*trajpar
Diam of section
Start diam value
Changes the diameter by +2 over the trajectory
Result:
1.0 Diam
3.0 Diam
4
Trajpar Function Step #3: You can edit the equation to modify the cross section any way you like – refer to the alternative examples below…
sd3 = 1 + 2*trajparˆ2 sd3 = 5 + 2*cos(360*trajpar)
