The President’s Corner I don’t know about you, but this past month went way too fast. I can’t believe it’s already October and we’re entering the time of year where things begin to change. The leaves have begun to turn and the weather has that little nip in it in the morning. And in the spirit of change, the chapter is continuing to look at ways to help better serve your needs. To date, we have launched a LinkedIn group to provide another avenue to help you network with other local APICS members and professionals in the area. If you have not joined this group (or LinkedIn) I encourage you to do so – just search for the Southern Minnesota APICS group and request to join. We’re also in the process of updating our website, which we hope to roll out by the end of October, and we are exploring adding the ability to pay for any of our events via credit card (through Paypal). More to come on this in the coming months, but in the meantime, I welcome any feedback and suggestions you have. The APICS organization itself has been focused this past year on strategic planning and as part of this activity will be rolling out new branding at the international conference & a new logo on Oct 1st. We’ll be incorporating this new strategy, including the new logo, into our local chapter as well as part of this initiative. Again, we welcome any feedback and suggestions you have regarding what we can do to provide further value to you. If you have let your membership lapse, I do encourage you to reconsider so that you can take full advantage of what APICS has to offer for professional development, networking, and career advancement.
