Hundreds of people are expected to attend the large vehicle sale going on at Payne Chevrolet in Springfield this week as people flock to get a great deal on the most fuel efficient cars on the road. Millions worth of inventory will be sold off in six days. The dealership has set incredibly low prices in an attempt to clear the lot. A huge selec-tion of new and used vehicles are on the lot, and Payne Chevrolet is attempting to sell them all.

A lot of things have come and gone in Springfield over the past 86 years, but one thing that has remained a constant is Payne Chevrolet. Family-owned and op-erated, the dealership first opened its doors downtown and remained there until moving to the current loca-tion on Memorial Blvd in 1969. And while many small-town dealerships have struggled since the automotive crisis, Payne Chevrolet has passed on by continuing to do business the way my grandfather Byram Payne and my uncle Van Payne began in 1926- friendly, fair, and honest. Though our way of doing business hasn’t changed, the building itself has gotten a recent facelift. As part of a rebranding campaign by GM, the modernized dealership boasts of a beautifully designed showroom and a more customer-friendly service area. This is the first major renovation we have done in over 15 years.

With the new building design and the exciting 2013 model lineup, customers can expect a more enjoyable sales and service experience.
