VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

Walker School’s Veterans Day Assembly will be held on Wednesday, 11/11 at 2:00 pm. We’d love to acknowledge all veterans during the assembly. Please reach out to loved ones and community members and invite them to join us. Thank you! NOTE: Children should plan to wear Red, White and Blue on the 11th!

PARKING ALERT DAY! On Wednesday, November 11th, at 2:00 pm we are having an assembly to honor our veterans. We would like to make their visit to Walker School as easy as possible, and that includes parking. Many of our veterans and their families have limited mobility and it would be much easier for them to park as close to the building as possible. If you plan to attend the assembly, please park on the street. Our parking lot will be used for our veterans. Thank you for your kindness.

D181 NEWS Strategic Planning Parent Survey Open Now All parents should have received an email from ECRA Group, Inc. with a link to our Strategic Planning survey, which will be open through November 8. The survey offers an opportunity to share thoughts on District priorities, key initiatives, and the future direction of our schools. The online, anonymous survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. ECRA is the same independent educational research firm that conducted our recent focus groups; they are administering and analyzing the surveys. If you did not receive the invitation to complete the survey, or if you have trouble accessing the survey, please email survey@ecragroupcom. Residents who are not current parents can access the survey for community members from the District website. The BOE is scheduled to review research findings and an initial plan draft in January. Community members and staff will then be invited to participate in engagement events to further shape the plan, which will be finalized in February. We appreciate your time in complete the survey and look forward to your input!

November 1, 2015 Dear District 181 Families, We are excited to announce the launch of our new online payment system, created through Acorn Fee Payments. It is open now and ready to accept payment of curriculum and field trip fees for the current school year. Thank you for your patience as we prepared for this change in providers over the last several months. We believe the added security, convenience, and features of this program will provide many benefits to families and to the District. To pay your 2015-16 student fees, follow the simple steps below. We are requesting that fee payment be completed by December 1. If you have multiple children in multiple schools, they will all appear together in your online account. You can pay for all of your D181 students in a single transaction. With a few simple clicks, you can view fees, balances, and a payment history and you can print receipts - all with convenient 24-hour access to the system. Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Discover, and electronic check are accepted. You will not be charged any convenience or transaction fees. You have the option of creating a two-part or four-part payment plan if necessary, and there is an $8 fee for that service. Please note that District 181 does not store or keep your credit information; transactions paid online are processed by a third party (Moneris). Fee Payment Process

1. Go online to our District website at www.d181.org. 2. Under the tan LOGIN button in the top right corner of the site, click Parent/Student Campus Portal. 3. Log into the Campus Portal using the same username and password as you used at registration. 4. In the Campus Portal, click the "Fee Payment System" link on the lower left side of the page. 5. Once in the Acorn system, review the fees shown on the Summary tab or in the individual student

tabs. 6. Add items to your shopping cart. 7. Checkout and complete payment.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's school secretary, or you can contact the District Office at 630.861.4948. Thank you for your support! Sincerely, Ken Surma Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations
