Delilah’s Response Well, being a girl, I would want a boy to tell me that they like me. You never really know if she likes you, unless you ask her. There is a 50% chance she will say yes to you. If I were you, I would go straight up to the girl, look her in the eyes, and say, “Listen, I’ve liked you for the longest time and I was just wondering if you liked me back.” You will know your answer sooner and won’t have to wonder forever. Let’s just say the girl runs away, then what would you do? What I see middle-schoolers doing now-a-days is asking their friend’s to ask the girl/boy for them. I promise that you will be sure to know if she likes you or not somehow. Best of luck!

Delilah’s ResponseAll sisters will be annoying, younger or older. If she’s older, it’s probably because she just wants to tease you. Although, if your sister is younger, she just want’s to get your attention. If you want your sister to stop, just ask her nicely. In most cases, she won’t listen; so tell your mom or dad that she is annoying you, and everything should be fine from there. Good Luck!

Delilah’s Response There are so many colors out there, it’s hard to choose just one, but guess it would have to be RED. It’s really an awesome color because for some reason when people see RED, it makes them act faster and more forcefully. But, RED also shows failure on exams. However, it also is color of winners when playing a sport. You might know this, but RED also resembles love, I mean why do you think people give each other RED roses? As for your second question, sorry, but I do not think that question is relevant. To answer your third question, not too long. (:

! My grades have dropped a lot since last year and my mom is really mad about it. How do I get them back up?

Delilah’s Response Well, there are many reasons that could cause your grade to drop, but don’t worry. there are ways to raise them again. First of all, you need to devote all of your attention to homework as soon as you get home and if you go to a sport after school, then maybe you could do some of your homework in the car. As you know, tests and quizzes are a huge part of your grade and studying is how to do good on them. It’s not how long you take studying for them, it’s how well you study for them. Find fun studying strategies. For example, I like to make a huge poster of the criteria that I am confused with and hang on my ceiling so that way I can study every night before I go to bed. Next, we have the biggest importance ever, being organized. The agendas that our school gives out really help. Also, instead of a normal folder buy an accordion folder. You could even buy a take home binder and use dividers for each class. Make sure to keep your agenda in the binder for easier moving. Good luck!

Girls BoysHatsEvery girl needs a knit beret, they are so in this season. Knit berets will bring out your french side. You might want to get it in orange, red, or yellow to match the leaves, but you can always buy one in another color.

ShoesToms are a must have this fall. The classic Toms are perfect for this fall, but if you're

looking for something more like a boot then try the cute Botas (also from

Toms). Did you know that for every pair of shoes sold, Toms give a pair of shoes to a child in need?

PantsColorful pants are so in. Get fall colors, like yellow, and wear it with dark colors. For red pants, wear with a white, gray, black, pale yellow or a navy blue T-shirt. Here’s some advice: never, ever wear colorful jeans with the same color shirt, and black goes with everything.

ShoesI bet some of you boys would like the shoe Heelys. They are basically shoes with wheels. You can glide around, but not in school. Also, most of you wear Nikes almost every day! Expand your shoes with some cool Heelys!PantsCargos are great for fall. Old Navy and Gap have them a lot of different colors and sizes. Try wearing blue cargos with a white T- shirt. There are other colors like red, brown. black or camo.

Whole WheatAttackersHave you had the new school lunches? Well, if you haven’t, go into the Cafeteria and try the whole wheat.That’s right, whole wheat everything! There’s a saying that too much of a good thing is bad, so I interviewed some kids in our school about these lunches.They all have code names so you don’t know who they are. Handre is another person who helped me with the interviews.

Me: What do you think about the new School lunches?Toilet Paper: I think that the school lunches are too healthy, and people are going to start bringing in lunches instead of buying and the school will lose profit.Me: Yes, so will you still buy lunch at the school again?

Toilet Paper: Only Friday for pizza. I think that’s pretty good.Me: Okay thank you for serving us.

Handre: Do you like the school lunches?Fonds: It’s okay sometimes.Handre: If you could change the school lunch menu would you?Fonds: Yes.

Us: How much has the lunch changed?Lunch Lady: Now everything is whole-wheat.Us: What about the pizza?Lunch Lady: Even that, we get our whole-wheat pizza from La Pizzeria.Us: Thanks.

So, then we asked another lunch lady about the portion sizes of the popcornchicken served October 11. She said that the popcorn chicken was about 11 pieces. The mashed potatoes and the peas were 6 ounces each. Also, the chilled fruit was apples, oranges, and pears.

New Vice Principal in Town

This month, Jarod Hickman and Isabel Pluchino interviewed our new Vice Principal, Ms. Giordano.

Q: Do you miss being a teacher?A: Yes, but I will always be a teacher.

Q: What do you like about your new job?A: That I can still see all the kids in Bedminster.

Q: Do you like being a vice principal?A: Yes.

Q: What new duties do you have?A: There’s a whole list I can give you, but, making sure students are safe at school is the most important part of the job. It's a bigger responsibility than when I was worried about my one class of students.

Q: Is your job hard?A: It is very difficult and it takes time and patience. Q: Did you always want to be a vice principal? !A: Yes.

Q: Do you think it is harder to be a vice principal or a 4th grade teacher?A: So far, vice principal, and if I ever become a principal, I will let you know if that is harder.

Q: Is being a vice principal fun?A: It does have its fun moments and hopefully many more as the months go on.

Hurricane Delay

Halloween is coming up, and there are a lot of activities going on at Bedminster School. For the younger grades, students will be able to

walk around in their fantabulous costumes, and they're going to be doing some cool stuff with the homeroom parents. The older kids, which involves fourth

through sixth grade, are going to be going to the awesome Spooktacular. The Spooktacular will

be the best yet! Here are some answers to the questions you might have about

the Spooktacular.  The Spooktacular will be on the 30th

of October. Fourth grade will be going at 9:30 and

their time will be up at 10:15. Fifth grade is going at 10:30. Their time will be up at 11:15. Sixth  grade will be going at 11:15 and their session will be over at 12:00. Seventh and eighth graders will not be attending but doing other things. There will be games and prizes at the Spooktacular. There will

not be experiments, but there will be this game where you have to stick your hands in things and

guess what it is without looking . Beware, this will be the best Spooktacular yet!!!!!

There is a lot of controversy over whether the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the better smartphone. The iPhone 5? The Samsung Galaxy S3? Let’s compare them side-by-side. The iPhone 5’s main feature is a bigger screen than the Apple’s previous models. However, the Galaxy S3 comes with a bigger screen than the iPhone 5. On the other hand, some users have a limit to the screen size of

their phones. Also, the new iPhone has a better pixel resolution than the S3 without HD. However, they have the same pixel display when the Galaxy S3 adds on HD.  The iPhone 5 has a huge advantage in Siri. Samsung just came out with S-Voice, which in my opinion, is basically a rip-off of Siri. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is better for

sharing data with other people, but the iPhone 5 loads that data faster. The S3 shows off a docking unit for charging your phone while also letting you charge it normally. The new Android comes with a SD card slot. The new, slimmer iPhone provides more updates quicker so you can get the most out of your phone. The new Samsung costs less than the iPhone 5, though. The iPhone has iOS 6, a main part of the phone overall. It also has a better Facetime feature than the Galaxy S3.

The iPhone 5 has a feature that allows you to download and save to the cloud. The S3 has a new S-Beam technology just put in the device. But, the iPhone 5 is more user friendly than the Galaxy S3, and users will experience more of a personality with the iPhone than the new Samsung Galaxy. The iPhone 5 has many cases, but the S3 has a smoother built-in case with the accessory of a “covering” case. The iPhone 5 has the new iOS 6 product, Apple Maps, that has sparked nerdy tech debates. The new TouchWiz technology in the Galaxy S3 has more powerful user interface than before, but the iPhone 5 has a better user interface overall. Many users of phones are concerned about cameras on their smartphones. The new Galaxy has a better front facing camera, but the iPhone version 5

has a better overall camera display. The Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts a low shutter lag with 8 megapixel and an LED flash. The app stores for both phones are practically the same.

While Alan believes that the iPhone 5 offers a lot of new

things, and overall, the Galaxy Samsung S3 is better, Abi believes that the iPhone 5 is the best. He thinks that it is overall more user friendly. In the end though, it is up to the user to pick which phone they want to buy. Everyone has their own personal bias from the two companies’ earlier phones.

"Kamila!""Yes, Mom!" said 11 year old Karma. She liked to be called by her nickname instead

of her boring, real name, and her mom knew that. It was Halloween night, Karma's favorite night of the year. Every year Karma was a witch for Halloween, and every year Karma's mom called for her so she could fix the costume.

"I want to go over the rules one more time," Mrs. Johnson said while straightening a big bow.

"Ugh! Do we have to?""Yes, we have to! It is important to know where you are and that you are safe where

you are at all times," Karma's mom said in a "matter of fact" tone."So, I've called Jenny and Maggie." Jenny and Maggie were two of Karma's best

friends."I've charged your phone in case you need to call me, and what was the other thing?

Oh yeah! Stay away from strangers. They're most dangerous at night and especially, Halloween night and for the last rule, well I'm sure you know what the last rule is," Mrs. Johnson said with stern eyes. Karma nodded knowingly. Karma and her mom had a secret that should not be told or shown to anyone. Unfortunately, Karma found out about it when she was very little and foolishly told Jenny and Maggie. They have been begging her to show them the secret ever since she told them and she didn't doubt that they would ask her again tonight. The unfortunate part is that she promised her mom she would never tell anyone so she made sure that the only time they could ask would be on Halloween.

"Show us!""No!""Come on! Is it always going to be this way?""I'm sorry. I promised my mom. You guys shouldn't even know!""Please! We'll be your best friends," The girls said persuasively."You guys are already my best fr....""Well look who it is, little Kamila Johnson," said an obnoxious voice. Karma didn't

even have to turn around to know who it was. There was only one person who called her by her real name, instead of her mom.

"My name is Karma, Rodger." 13 year old Rodger, Karma's annoying neighbor, always tricked the girls into handing over her candy. Well, not this night.

"Yeah sure, so how much candy are you and your friends going to hand over tonight Kamila?"

"We're not handing any candy over tonight, Rodger. We're not the foolish kids we used to be." "Hey, haven't you been a witch like a million times? It's getting kind of old. Maybe next year you can be yourself. You would definitely scare the neighbors looking like yourself, Kamila," Rodger sneered, laughing at his own joke.

"Yeah, and this is coming from a boy who could win an ugly contest!""Ooooooo!" Jenny said in the background. Maggie wasn't good at comebacks, so she

stayed quiet. This appeared to be a really good comeback because now Rodger was angry."Kamila, you know things that I know that I could tell your mom any minute. You

really don't want to go there.""Shut up!" shouted Maggie. Not even Maggie could believe that she spoke up to

Rodger."Wow, you actually said a word. Now you have something to write on the front page

of your diary. Did you hear what she said? Shut up!" This was too much for all of them. Karma couldn't stand it.

"We're both going to regret this, but it has to be done.""What are you talking about?""JOO VA KA LAY BA TEE RAAAAA!" The trees started to sway the leaves around

them created a tornado that spin around them. Rodger looked like he was going to fall, but actually started to levitate! The wind was blowing in every direction. They were in some sort of force field. Karma's eyes were bright red and were concentrating on only Rodger. The girls thought this would be fun, but they were really terrified. Rodger obviously didn't know what was going on so he was just as scared as they were. This was Karma's secret. She dressed like a witch every year because she was a witch! Then Karma's eyes started to go back to white and Rodger fell onto the ground. Everyone was looking at her terrified. Then, she fell to the ground. The girls tried to wake her up but she wouldn't. She wasn't dead but she wasn't sleeping either. Rodger got up to run, but he tripped on his shoelace and that's when Karma woke up.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT!" screamed everyone, but Karma. "See, this is why my name is Karma. Whoever messes with me and and my friends get bad karma and you just seriously got on my last nerve." Karma turned and hugged her friends.

"Thank you." "No problem," Rodger turned to go home and tell his parents what happened."Oh! If you tell anyone about this, I can do the same thing to you but only this time

worse.""That's the last time I mess with these kids," Rodger mumbled to himself."You’re the most amazing friend ever," said Jenny and Maggie.

"Yeah, but that's the last time I ever give bad karma," Karma said with a wink.
