Columbus State University Play

The students will get to watch a play at our school.

We are asking for a donation of $2.00 from each stu-dent to help the university offset the costs of the per-

formance. Thank you to the parents who have al-ready sent this in. If you have not sent this in yet,

please send in this week.

Taste Test

We had our taste test. The kids loved eating the different types of apples. Some liked the sweet red and/or yellow ones while some liked the sour green ap-ples. Thank you for sending these apples in for us to enjoy!

Circus Day October 7th

How fun will it be to come to school dressed as a person or animal from the circus? That is what you get to do on Oct 7th. Don’t think that you have to go out an buy anything—just be creative. You can come as the ring master, a tightrope walk-er, a strongman, an elephant, a lion, etc. Use your imagina-tion!

Help Needed - We need the following:

Pre-popped popcorn

Three 2 Liter Sprites

Brown paper lunch bags

Volunteers

Mrs. Rosser’s and Mrs. Schade’s Classroom

Scholastic Book Orders

If you would like to order books from the Scholastic Book Order Forms on-line, you can go to the website below. You will use the code (GK8HM) for our classroom.

Needed:

Please don’t forget that we need a plain white short sleeved t-shirt for each child. Make sure it is big enough to still fit them at the end of the school year. Mrs. Schade and I will decorate them—and the kids will wear them for our spring

field trip and our field day events.

Working Hard in Class

We have been working on sorting items by color, shape, type, etc.

STEM

WOW—we did a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activity. We were trying to work as a team, plan, problem solve, and build. It was interesting...we had some fun, tears, and learning expe-

riences. We will do many more activities like this throughout the year.

Community Helper Day

What fun! We had several community helpers come in and talk about their jobs, the tools they use, the education they needed, etc.
