Past, Present, FutureUnderline the verb in each sentence. Then write past, present, or future to tell when the action is happening.

The twins will go to camp next summer.

Erik’s pet lizard eats crickets.

Our dad cooked steak

on the grill last night.

My uncle always sings in the shower.

Olivia hunted everywhere for her missing cat.

I lived in Michigan when I was a baby.

José walks to school with his best friend.

Chloe will ride her bike to the store.

We will plant our garden in the spring.

Verbs

Brain BoxA past-tense verb tells about something that has already happened. To change a verb to past tense, add a d to most words that end in e, and add ed to most other words. For example: Colin exercised in the gym last night. Colin pulled the rope.

A future-tense verb tells about something that will happen in the future. The word will is usually used with future tense verbs. For example: Colin will exercise outside next weekend.
