Introduction

A brand makes an organization unique and creates

value for the organization’s customers. though a brand

essentially begins as the organization’s name, logo, and

tagline. Consistent use of PASALI Philippines Foundation Inc. logo is a vital factor in building and sustaining our strong

brand.

PASALI developed this Style manual to help establish and

implement effective branding to recognize organizational identity, product and services.

The purpose of this guide is to specify the rules to follow

in order to present a unified voice in all communications.

These guidelines will be applied to all PASALI internal and

external communications.

Organizational Identity

Name

The organization should be referred to as “PASALI Philippines Foundation,

Inc.” in all standards, guidelines and reports. The word “PASALI” stands for

Philippines Association of sea-based workers for Saving, Loans, and

Initiatives. Therefore all letters should always written in capital form. Correct: Incorrect:

Proportions of the logo must never be altered. Do not

stretch or deform the logo in

any manner. Do not change

the aspect ratio of the logo by dragging the corners of

the picture window box. The

logo must be proportionally

enlarged only and not stretched, compressed, or modified.

Logo - Background Control

The Logo should be important

wherever it appears. Always

ensure that there is sufficient

contrast between the logo and the background.

The preferred background for

the logo is white. In some cases, it’s necessary to use the

logo over a photograph or an

illustration.

In these cases, it’s extremely

important to ensure the visibility

of all logo elements. Remember,

visibility is the goal. Use of the logo is allowed only where there

is sufficient contrast between all

the elements.

Minimum Clear Space

It is important that the PASALI logo is the most

legible and clearly visible element in any graphic piece. Pay particular attention to allow a minimum

amount of space surrounding the logo. Do not

compromise the readability of the logo by using

it on backgrounds that compete with it visually. Never place anything on the logo. Never alter the

logo. Never add your own tagline.

Minimum Size The minimum size for using the logo: The vertical

height of the name should never be less than

0.5 x 1.33 inch proportion.

Resolution

The resolution of the PASALI Logo for all

printed collateral should be at least 300 dots per inch (dpi) to avoid blurriness.

Incorrect Logo Usage

Inconsistent presentation of the Logo compromises our identity. Therefore,

it is important to follow these guidelines

to ensure a consistent look across in all

applications and materials.

A. Do not reconfigure or rearrange the

elements within the Logo; do not

change the spacing between

elements.

B. Make sure that no trademark

C. Do not stretch or compress the Logo.

D. Do not add to or delete any element

to the Logo.

Typography

For large amounts of text in standards and guidelines, PASALI uses Verdana.

For large amounts of text in Communication materials and in

internal and external communications, Calibri body fonts including

Arial and Tahoma are acceptable. Example:

• Use Arial or Tahoma , 24 to 26 points for

titles and 20 to 24 points for body.

• Never cover the PASALI logo and tagline with text or images.

• Never modify, deform, or add anything to the PASALI logo.

• Keep the sizes of titles, subtitles, and body text consistent throughout your presentation.

• Limit the number of words on a page.

• Limit your graphics (photos) to one to four per page.

• AVOID ALL CAPS—THEY ARE HARD TO READ. • Italics can be hard to read, so use carefully.

• Keep images and graphic treatments simple.

• Limit use of transitions between slides, and if you use

a transition, keep the same transition throughout your presentation. Multiple transitions can be distracting.
