About Bravehearts
Bravehearts was established in 1996, by its founder Hetty
Johnston AM, with the aim of making Australia the safest place
in the world to raise a child.
Since then, Bravehearts has grown exponentially and now
provides services nationally with our counselling service,
advocacy and support call centre service, education show,
and training programs for the whole community.
Bravehearts has seen more than half a million children across
the country with its Keep Safe education show, and provides
an average of 5000 face-to-face counselling sessions per
year, and responds to more than 10,000 phone and email
enquiries annually.
Bravehearts relies on community support to fund the work we
do and individual contributions are critical. Without this
important source of funding, Bravehearts will not be able to
continue providing our current services or expand our services
into high need areas.
How will your support help?
Corporate and Business supporters are integral to our
organisation. Their support helps to fund our education
programs and counselling services across the country, as well
as helping to cover the cost of essential administration and
client support staff, without whom our services could not be
delivered.
Your support will enable us to reach more regional and remote
areas with our education programs, and provide us with the
ability to run counselling sessions for those who may not be
able to afford the service.
Funds donated in 2016 allowed us to;
Educate 115,149 Australian children, including 29,500 in regional and remote
areas of North Queensland and Far North Queensland
Provide 4,556 counselling sessions for children and parents in need
Assist with the completion of 5,713 phone counselling sessions
Our Mission is to
prevent child sexual
assault in our society.
Our Vision is to
make Australia the
safest place in the world
to raise a child.
Our Guiding
Principles are to at
all times, do all things
to serve our Mission
without fear or favour
and without
compromise, and to
continually ensure that
the best interests and
protection of the child
are placed before all
other considerations.
Ways to help
Below are some of the ways in which companies and businesses can help support
Bravehearts. As well as providing financial support, Bravehearts also welcomes
support through services or goods in kind.
Workplace Giving
Workplace Giving is a simple and effective way for companies to support our cause
while also being a great opportunity for staff engagement. Workplace giving
programs allow employees the opportunity to donate a nominated amount each
pay cycle to the charity. Many workplaces also engage with a Dollar-4-Dollar
matching scheme to encourage further staff engagement within their organisations.
Any Dollar-4-Dollar matching is tax deductible. Bravehearts will send regular updates
on how your contributions are helping to protect Australian children, and will
publically thank your company for its support across a variety of channels.
Percentage of sales
Businesses can choose to donate a percentage of their sales each quarter to the
organisation. This can be set up as an ongoing initiative, or a seasonal donation
depending on the needs and preferences of your company. All donations are tax
deductible to your company and will be publically recognised by Bravehearts
across a variety of channels.
Regular Giving
Another very convenient option for companies is to set up a regular giving program,
whereby each month, a predetermined figure is donated to Bravehearts. This is a
simple and effective way for companies to ensure they reach any donation target
they set for themselves, and again all donations are tax deductible.
Bravehearts is very grateful to all our donors, and will ensure that they are
recognised appropriately for their generous support.
Sponsorships
Bravehearts has sponsorship opportunities available for companies and businesses of
all sizes. These can range from event sponsorships, to sponsoring the pilot of a new
program or service. When these are available, they are found on our website. You
can also be added to our database to receive these sponsorship proposals when
they become available for review at your discretion.
Sponsorships do incur GST, however they come with strict acknowledgement and
promotional guidelines that are agreed upon by both parties prior to any
agreement being signed.
Our current sponsorship opportunity is for a national sporting event – Bravehearts 777
Marathon. Information for this sponsorship opportunity is available upon request.
Recognition of your support
We have detailed the way in which partners and supporters are recognised (as a
minimum) for their generous contribution towards protecting Australian kids. This
supporter structure is available to companies and businesses who support our work
both financially, as well as through in-kind services or goods to the values mentioned
below.
