The final instalment in the Spiritual Seminars at St James will be on this Tues 10 Nov from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Presented by Matthew McDonald, the night will be on ‘the Family’. Come for an evening to nourish the soul.

SPIRITUAL SEMINAR AT ST JAMES PARISH

The Parish Community of St James welcomes all new Parishioners into the life of our Parish. Christ is the focus of all that we do here. In the spirit and words of the Servant of God—Joseph De Piro, founder of the Paulist Missionaries, “If the Lord does not build the house, then in vain do the builders labour, Psalm 127:1”.

A date in January will be set to invite and welcome you officially in the Parish Community Hall. If you have not already registered, please do so by filling in a Census Form found in the Magazine Rack in the Foyer.

NEW PARISHIONERS

This Thurs 12 Nov at 7:30pm, we will have a Mass of Remembrance for all Parishioners of loved ones who have died this year. Their families are asked to bring a photo of their loved one to this Mass. All Parishioners are welcome to come and support the families of the deceased. Thank you to the Function Committee who will provide hospitality after the Mass.

If you would like to have the Statue of Our lady of Fatima in your home for a week to pray the Rosary as a family, bookings are open for 2016 and 2017. Only two dates left available for 2016; 21 Feb—28 Feb and 03 Jul—10 Jul.

So to avoid disappointment and to secure the Statue in your home, a booking sheet is available in the narthex after each weekend Mass.

FUNCTION COMMITTEE

During the month of November the Commemoration Book is available in the Narthex. You may place the names of your departed loved ones in this book which will be a part of our Liturgy at all Masses in November.

COMMEMORATION BOOK

During the month of November there will be many Mass Intentions for the Deceased. Each of the Mass Intentions will be distributed to various Paulist Missionaries where they minister, with each Intention celebrated individually and the stipends associated with those Mass Intentions used to support those Missionaries. Envelopes available in the Magazine Rack.

VINTAGE GROUP—UPCOMING EVENTS O loving God, across the ages you have called women and men to imitate your Son, Jesus, by dedicating their lives to the service of charity, particularly towards the poor and forgotten of society. During this Year of Consecrated Life, we pray for all Religious and Priests that the power of your Spirit may deepen in them a spirit of humility and the wisdom to discern your will. May they be joyful witnesses to the reality of resurrection in our world, and a prophetic presence and voice to those most in need. In particular we remember the Paulist Missionaries who care for us in our Parish Community and their charism of missionary service.
