Know the ways predators groom children One of the ways a predator grooms his potential victims is by allowing children to do things their parents wouldn’t — anything from playing video games, seeing R or PG-13 rated movies, or trying drugs and alcohol. To children, it can be exciting or tempting when another adult says they get to do something they want to do and have been previously denied. For the predator, this begins to set up a perceived relationship in which the predator becomes a trusted ally to whom the child can turn. Parents should be aware of who their children spend time with, and what they do together. CONGRATULATIONS TO SCHOOL STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color, national origin, and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, medical condition, sex, or national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies and practices, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs, although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single-sex schools. While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them. Decisions concerning the admission and continued enrollment of a student in the school are based upon the student's emotional, academic, and physical abilities and the resources available to the school in meeting the student's needs.

KNIGHTS KORNER TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Frequent fliers today have many ways to accrue air miles, so one doesn’t always have to endure long hours in cramped seats to earn free hours in cramped seats. In St. Paul’s day, there were no such perks, nor would there have been any legal system for him to protest the shipwrecks he endured. He had other rewards in mind. The churches that he established in the catalogue of cities from today’s first reading must have been very different from one another. Language, culture, customs, religious history, obstacles to community, social challenges, the places where they met, their clothing, their bread and wine, all distinct, particular to the area. There were social customs as well: in a Christian household, the only place where a slave would be able to stand legally as an equal with the master would be at the table of the Lord, because at that table a new world of reconciliation was imaged. While Paul revered local customs, he was relentless about challenging the ways that people lived their Christian lives and how their worship reflected them. It is much the same today, as a global Catholic Church seeks to respect local customs and culture, allowing for differences in many things, yet always giving expression to the underlying presence of Christ, who binds us all together into his body. —James Field, Copyright © J. CATHOLIC PRAYERS FOR MOTHERS Heavenly Father, source of all good things, one of the greatest goods you have given us is in this life is a Holy Catholic Mother. Bless all Holy Mothers who have made so many sacrifices for us during our lives. Thank you for the mothers who have taught us how to be Holy Catholics and happy children. Bless them for insisting on us living holy, pure and blameless lives. Bless and help all mothers to continue to be holy examples to us their children. Reward them for their continuous prayers they pour out for their good children, their mediocre children and for their bad children. Hear their prayers and convert their children that are enslaved by their selfish ideologies, their sinful lifestyles and their vices of drugs, alcohol, gambling and pornography.
Father, let these mothers never despair of their hope that some day their children will come back into Your Holy Catholic Church and Her Holy Sacraments, especially Holy Confession. No matter how far they have gone into sin or atheistic beliefs, for the sake of their holy mothers, hear their prayers and make it impossible for these wandering children to go on without coming back to the TRUTH, that is Jesus Christ and Your laws of love.
Mary, you are the ideal Mother. Help all mothers to imitate your purity, faith, modesty, humility and obedience to God’s will. You are our eternal Mother. You care about all mothers and their children. Help these mothers and their children to be full of God’s graces and love. Give them the graces necessary to lovingly obey God’s Laws and to enter into eternity in heaven.
We asked this in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
WE WILL BE
PRAYING FOR ALL
MOTHERS FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH OF MAY!
