A Prayer for Couples Father, send your Holy Spirit into our hearts. Place within us love that truly gives, tenderness that truly unites, self-offering that tells the truth and does not deceive, forgiveness that truly receives, loving physical union that welcomes. Open our hearts to you, to each other and to the goodness of your will. Cover our poverty in the richness of your mercy and forgiveness. Clothe us in our true dignity and take to yourself our share aspirations, for your glory, and in the name of Jesus, forever and ever. Amen.

Sophia, ChurchMouse Reporting unseen works of faith, hope and charity to uplift you.

I just noticed something in our church the other day. It’s very cool. If you look at the center point of the freestanding altar in our church you will see three capital letters IHS. They are the first three letters of the names JESUS in Greek (IHΣ-ΟΥΣ):

IHS Now, if you look at the center point of the high altar you will see the capital letter “P” super-imposed on the capital letter, “X.” It’s actually the first two letter of the name CHRIST (ΧΡ-IΣΤΟΣ in Greek). So, if you stand in the center aisle, facing the altar you can “see” the names, “JESUS CHRIST”!
