Presumed father – (A.N.S story)

husband of the baby’s mother at the time of birth (is not always the same person) or within 300 days of the birth.

Birth Certificate in TX:

• Mother’s name goes automatically on birth certificate

• If married, the husband's name will be placed on the certificate, unless he denies that he is the biological father.

If not married:

NO FATHER’S NAME unless the baby’s parents take steps to establish legal fatherhood or “paternity”
