UPDATE ON PLANS FOR THE IN HOMES QUILT

SHOW IN APRIL 2011

From Jane Thomason

Although our In Homes Quilt Show will not occur

until April 16th

and 17th

of next year, many plans arebeing made for the show. There will be a boutique inRoberta Lee’s home, so all of us need to think ofclever and beautiful things to make for that. SueBond will offer some ideas at our Stitch and Assist.Patsy Williams is in charge of the challenge, “In MyGarden.” Some of the rules for this theme have been

already established: the item’s size should be no big-

ger than 35x35 inches, it may be pieced, appliquéd, orembroidered. It must be a “quilted item’ but does notnecessarily have to be a quilt. It could be a bag, wall

hanging, a table runner or something else. Patsy willhave some suggestions if you need them. Prizes willbe $50.00 for first prize, $25.00 for the secondprize, and $10.00 for the third prize, and they will allbe gift certificates from Completely Quilted. Onlymembers of PAQG may enter. The entries will bevoted on by attendees of the quilt show.

There will also be a quilt to be raffled. This is be-ing made by the Monday Stitch Group, the Stitch Sis-ters. It rough edge appliqué from a pattern, “My

Whimsical Quilt Garden”. Tickets will be sold only tothose people who attend the quilt show. Attendeescan purchase tickets for $1.00 each when they enterthe houses where the quilts are being displayed.

All members of PAQG can help in some way with theshow. We will need volunteers to be in every room ofthe homes where the quilts are shown. There will besign-up sheets at the quilt meetings for you to volun-teer to help. The show will be a lot of fun. I hope youwill all participate by bringing your beautiful quilts todisplay and also help out at the show.
