PANDEMIA 2.0 LAB It is an experimental sound project, based on the use of a microscope as a generator of sounds and visuals. A pilot project, implemented in real time. An artistic laboratory, which uses the movement of microscopic elements to be converted into digital entropy. The propositio of this project is to investigate diferents microscopic elements that we have around us in everyday life, and can get to help make up the work of PANDEMIC 2.0 LAB. The visual part has equal or greater importance than the sound, cause we can observe that the sounds generated are a reflection of the movement of the microscopic world. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

PANDEMIA 2.0 LAB

It is an experimental sound project, based on the use of a microscope as a generator of sounds and visuals.

It is a project inspired by PANDEMIA release, published recently in 12” at Discontinu Records. In this reference we can appreciate the sounds sharp, microbial and destructive to us back in time to the big global that have taken place in the history of humanity. We may feel the terror in the bodies of the sick or sound waves through our blood destroying our immune system.

ELEMENTOS DEL LABORATORIO 2.0 LAB EXPERIMENTAL DIGITAL LABORATORY The key element in this digital lab, is a microscope and PureData. Everything is generated by elements that are introduced into the microscope objective or who have previously been recorded with it. The movement of the images captured by the digital program (open source) and converted into numbers, which are sent to another computer by OSC data, and converted into sound thanks to Pd.

Pd (Pure Data) is a professional, based on programming language for electronic sound processing. It is open source, and is available free on the Internet. A disadvantage is that the program is discussed and formed only by certain institutions or forums on the Internet. The complex terminology makes it difficult to understand for beginners, but once learned the language, is easy to control and flexibility. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The microscope used is US A1070 TRAVELER digital camera and USB connector. It is designed for viewing as a slide samples. Samples increases 40x to 1024x

WORK PLAN EXPERIMENTAL DIGITAL LABORATORY The part of the microscope can be extended as desired. Is the possibility the interactivity with the audience. They can experience this microscope use and understanding of Open Source PureData program. They can arrive to understand the communication between the sample and the sound-visual output. The live set (optional) is 50 minutes, about my reference in 12” , which incorporates part of the microscope as a tool. The purpose of this project, is to be able to compose a musical piece with only part of PureData and microscope.
