It is with great excitement that our Foundation Year One and Year Two teachers are getting ready to have their students back onsite for some days next week On Monday Tuesday and Wednesday we will have all of our Foundation students back onsite and then on Thursday and Friday we welcome back our Year One and Two students This pattern will be the same for next week and the week after Beginning October 26th we will be adding our Year Three to Six students into the staggered return
Our return to onsite learning will focus on re-establishing school routines social connections and wellbeing Our staff are aware of some students having great excitement while others have anxiety about the return and we will assist with this transition back There will be some differences to our onsite processes These change regularly as the roadmap changes but at this stage parents will not be allowed onsite Students will need to be dropped off outside the school gates and parents should organise a pick up place outside the gates as well We will have separate gates for entry based on student houses These will be the same as they were in 2020 and will be published on Compass and our website Students will exit through any gate so please organise this in the morning Staff will be on all gates Last year we took the positive side of this and found that the students coped very well and it really helped their independence and self confidence Year Three to Six students will be required to wear a face mask while indoors
This week we did have a school site closure due to a positive case attending onsite On behalf of all of the PCS community I pass onto this person their family and everyone who is now isolating our very best wishes We hope you recover quickly I will also add how very supportive our community has been toward the staff of our school and thank everyone for that
We still have several events planned for late November and early December including camps performances whole school events and transitions I hope that these events will be allowed to occur and we will keep the community informed of any further information when we receive it
2022 planning is well underway We are now looking at which teachers will be in which year levels next year If you know of anyone who is going to enrol at PCS next year please ask them to contact us ASAP It is also helpful if you could let us know if you are moving away next year
Please remember that hats are now required for all outdoor activities at school We are planning on spending more time outdoors during the day so hats will be more important than ever All hats need to be approved SunSmart styles not baseball caps
Our building project is continuing and School Council have seen the first design plans This is a very exciting time and we are really looking forward to these new facilities It will be important that we have parent representatives on School Council next year to assist with this process as well as the usual council functions If this is something you are interested in please email that school so you can begin to find out about the time commitment and roles of the School Council Elections occur in March next year so it is time to start thinking about this now
I sincerely hope that all of the PCS community is doing well and are looking forward to returning onsite If you have any questions please call or email the school and we will get someone to contact you
Stay safe
