From the DeFacto Editor:
We have just returned from an almost two monthroad trip to the Canadian Maritimes. We played golf, visited sceanic places and looked for ancestors inNova Scotia. If you haven’t been to the Maritimesmake an effort to go there.
Now that we are home, planning for the next reunionwill start to move forward. We will send out e-mailsperiodically over then next year. Hopefully we willhave a nice turnout. There seems to be a lot of inter-est in coming back to the UP to see old friends andsquadron members.
One thing that we would like to encourage is for theBoomers to turn out. Over the last couple of reun-ions we have had only a couple of boomers there.Come on guys we want to see you too.
I hope that next summer and fall are better than thishas been. It has been unseasonally cool and wetthis year, but no snow yet. The leaves haven’tstarted to turn yet but I bet it will not be to long untilit happens.
As an aside, one of the local authors, Sonny Long-tine, (a former teacher in the Gwinn schools), haswritten four books about the UP and the Marquettearea. They are available in the local bookstores hereand sometimes on the web. They are well writtenand interesting.
Hope to see you in 2010.
