WE NEED HELP FROM ALL MEMBERS
FOR A SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Included in the tournament fee is a lunch which begins at noon;
Tee Time is 1:00pm. Registration will begin at 10:30am.
This is our second biggest fund raiser of the year, so even if you
do not play golf it is possible for you to help. The following
three ways are where we need people.
We need people (male, female, and teens) who will play golf. If
you don’t have a team we will try to set you up with one. The
tournament is a best ball scramble. So you don’t even need to
golf that well – just a willingness to go out and have some fun.
Ask your friends or family who play golf to get a team together
and participate.
We need people and businesses to sponsor holes. Sponsorship is
$100 per hole and each sponsor gets their own personal sign at
one of the 18 tees. We could have 400 hole sponsors. Wouldn’t
that be something?
On the day of the Tournament, we will need members to help
greet golfers; collect tournament fees; drive the beverage cart;
collect money for Closest to Pin contest; place and pick up signs.
FORMAT
4 Person Scramble.
$75.00 Per Player
($300.00 Per Person Team).
$5.00 Per Mulligan
(2 Total Per Person).
$5.00 Per Red Tee Blaster

FATHER’S DAY FLOWER DEDICATIONS The Altar Guild is taking dedications for Father’s Day flowers on June 19. Dedica-tions, are $5.00 each and are an excel-lent way to memorialize or thank the father figure in your life. Dedication forms are available in the church office or on the tables at the rear of the Nave
and will be taken until June 13th.
Please contact Susan Armstrong at 256-302-3801 with any questions.
GREETINGS TO ALL FROM THE PASTORAL CARE TEAM
At various times Epiphany parishioners need assistance and transportation for doctor visits, or to go to the hospital. Some of these have no family, or none in the immediate area. On occasion a trip may even require going to Huntsville or Birmingham.
Our Pastoral Care Team, led by Kathy Thompson with Vestry Liaisons, Barry Jones, Jack Frost and Linda Katz, are requesting your help in meeting the needs of these parishioners. Kathy is developing a Ministry Team just for this purpose. Please pray about this Ministry, and consider stepping up to help. With your help and God's loving grace we commit to meet these needs! For additional information, or to offer your support, you may call Kathy (256 572-0363), or one of the Pastoral Care Vestry Liaisons.
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry.
During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them." EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Chris-tian service.
Learn more about EfM by contacting Rick Cooley or Shari Harrison. The next class starts in September but we must have everyone signed up by July.
The choir will take a recess in June with the blessing and encouragement of Fr. Aaron. Kay and Valerie will continue to lead service music and offer instrumental anthems while the choir members take this time to worship with family, travel and relax a bit. All practices will be postponed until Sunday, July 3, when they resume at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday evening practices will start up again at 6:30 p.m. with the evening Fall programs in August. Please consider joining us in July. We welcome all who enjoy music and are happy to guide you through ‘the ropes’. Right now we have a particular need for tenors and altos.

The summer months are beginning, and we are entering the “long, green” season after Pentecost. On Pentecost Sunday last month we cele-brated the birth of the church with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Throughout the season that follows, we celebrate the life and work of the church through the power of that same Spirit.
These upcoming summer months are the traditional growing sea-son, when the fruits of the earth begin to produce in abundance. We can see the glory of God’s creation as soil, sunshine and rain bring forth their bounty. We need look no further than the creation accounts in the book of Genesis to see that God cares for the Creation, and God has made the good things of this earth to provide for our sustenance. This is our season to grow, as well.
In the best of circumstances, summertime is also a moment when we can also enjoy the fruits of our labors. It represents a time of Sabbath rest. We pause for refreshment and relaxation, taking a step back from some of our duties in order to be able to approach them again in the fu-ture with a renewed mind, body and spirit.
Summertime is a chance to take some time off; it is the season of vacation and holiday. And although most of us continue in our various la-bors, we also take time to be renewed and rejuvenated.
But even though we do our best to take a break, our continuing growth in the life of faith does not cease.
This summer, I invite you to faithful attendance in the life of our parish. There will be times to serve, to care, and to build up the Body of Christ. There will be ample opportunities to offer your gifts.
Even though we aren’t in an “official” season of the church year (like Advent, Lent, or Easter), now is a time set apart and made sacred; it is a time for growing in faith. The life of faith is often a series of small epiph-anies that add up to a full, rich, and deep relationship with God. Our call is to be attentive for those moments – to be on the lookout for the many ways God interacts with us.
I look forward to hearing of the ways in which God is inviting you into a deeper relationship – through your labor and work, and through your rest and relaxation. Blessings & Peace,
Fr. Aaron
The Season after Pentecost, 2016 Congratulations to Jack Frost on
his appointment to the vestry.
Jack is taking Diane Livingood’s
place as she starts a new chap-
ter in her life in Foley, AL.
WEDNESDAY HEALING SERVICE
The regular 11:30 a.m. Wednesday Healing Eucharist will be on hiatus
for the months of June and July. It will resume August 3.

SUMMER PLEDGES
Historically the collections during the summer months are lower due to people being away for vacations or other events. If too many pa-rishioners allow their pledges and gifts to fall behind, Epiphany strug-gles to meet its obligations. At the end of June, we will be sending out a mid-year report of your giving. Please review the information, and do your best to stay current in your pledge.
DIRECT DEBIT IS HERE! Epiphany currently has 18 individuals and families who participate in direct debit for their pledge or contribution to Epiphany. It is such a simple thing to do, and saves time and energy for all involved. Here's why: No searching all over the house on Sunday mornings for your
checkbook. It gives the staff and volunteers a break. It is much faster to
process an automatic debit than it is to open an envelope,
verify the amount, endorse the check, run an adding machine tape and go to the bank. Just ask the members of the counting ministry!
It saves the church money because less envelopes are used.
You can relax on vacation, knowing that your contributions are hard at work providing a smooth cash flow for church operations.
It contributes to the environment. Go “green” by eliminating checks!
You won’t have to worry about your pledge being up to date. It always will be!
It’s EASY. Simply contact Charlene Mason, Financial Assistant, at 256-582-4897, to set it up.
Dear Friends,
We would like to thank everyone who visited, sent flowers, meals, cards, or who included us in your prayers during my Dad's short illness & death, and my sister's death three weeks later.
This has been a particularly difficult time for us and we know we couldn't have made it without the support of our Epiphany family.
Thank you.

Warm Weather Safety
With warm weather quickly approaching, it’s time to refresh ourselves and family members on how to prevent illness and injury while enjoying time out-doors. Please review the brief list below and access the various websites for additional information.
Tick bites can spread various illnesses such as Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fe-ver. Wear protective clothing and check your-self/family members every day.
Helmets should be worn whenever riding some-thing “on wheels”. Ensure the correct helmet is selected for use with the activity.
Water Safety is of great importance as no one is “drown proof”. Parents need to stay focused 100% and keep child within an arm’s length of being watched.
Sun Protection can greatly reduce the risk of skin cancer. Apply Sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher 30 minutes prior to going out in the sun, wear protective clothing and sunglasses (with 99-100% UV protection) and look for shade when-ever possible.
Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac can cause an allergic reaction. Learn to recognize & avoid touching the leaves of these plants.
Dehydration and Heat-Related Illnesses: Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to offer &/or drink a fluid as a person is already dehydrated by that time.
Picnics & grilling is a fun outdoor activity that requires additional awareness of hot surfaces and that food is cooked thoroughly and kept at the proper temperature.
Pedestrian Safety
Keep a first aid kit at home and in the car. Re-stock when an item is used.
