brought the olive tree to the Balearic Islands.

• After the discovery of America, came the first tomatoes to the Balearics.

• Experts give their appearance in the eighteenth century, when an Augustinian friar mention it in one of his recipes.

DARK BREAD• The traditional dark

bread is the base of any pa amb oli.

• Is a simple bread that is always consumed in Mallorca,wich contains only flour,water and yeast.

RAMALLET TOMATOE

• Ramallet tomato is a local variety native to Mallorca.

• Is a key ingredient in the classic Mallorcan pa amb oli.

• We used to scrub in the brown bread and then put oil.

OLIVE OIL• Mallorca oil olive is extra

virgin.

• Production and consumption of oil in Mallorca has a great tradition.During the 18th century was the economic mainstay of the island.

• In the traditional pa amb oli we put the oil after scrub the ramallet tomato.
