ahead be seated anywhere. It made me want to come back because I felt like they wanted me to be there. The same goes for our regulars and more importantly for those who might be venturing back to church for the first time in a long time or for our visitors. GREETERS JUST GOT TO SHOW UP. So we are going to begin assigning more to this duty. FI-NALLY, CALL THE OFFICE TO LET JANET KNOW YOU WANT TO BE A GREETER… we have some hitches in our giddy up in getting some names on the greeter list… so just call and tell us. ALSO, THE BULLETINS WILL BE BROUGHT OUT BY THE GREETERS AFTER COMMUNION AND HANDED OUT TO YOU AS YOU LEAVE CHURCH.

CONFESSIONS: A reminder that confessions are heard on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:15 pm.

Planning Ahead: I am leaving Sunday afternoon, Oct. 29 and will return on November 10. I will be in Israel and Jordan. Pay attention closely to the parish bulletin for masses and day when there will be no mass. Most of the days are cov-ered and certainly the Holy Day Masses, the Sunday Masses and the First Friday Mass. Many thanks to Fr. Jim Kramper and Fr. Steve Cooney for covering for me. Holy Day Masses: Feast of All Saints: Tuesday, Oct. 31 mass will be at 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, Nov. 1 masses will be at 8:05 am and noon. There will be no mass Nov. 1 in the evening. First Friday Mass at 8:05 am with closing service and Benediction at 2:40 pm. Then on Wednesday, Nov. 8 there will be the normal confessions at 4:30-5:15 with mass at 5:30 pm and then on Thursday, Nov. 9 there will be an 8:05 am Mass with both Grade and High School attending.

Pastoral Council: Will meet on Thursday, November 26 at 7:00 pm in the Office Meeting Room.

Welcome Imad Qumsiah: Once again I welcome my friend Imad to our parish to sell the Olive Wood carvings that bene-fit the Christian Palestinian Families in Bethlehem. On my trip to the Holy Land I will have the chance to spend some time with his family in Bethlehem.

From the Pastor’s Desk by Fr. Owen Korte

INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC: Give me a call or send me a note via email

[email protected]. We are going to run a joint RCIA program with Fr. Keiter in Fordyce. It has already started, if you are interested or know of someone, we need to get go-ing.

FAMILY FORMATION: Our next meeting date is Wednesday, November 15 and the topic is THE CREED.

Danube Riverboat Cruise: Would you like to accom-pany me (Fr. Korte) on a cruise along the scenic Da-nube River passing through Germany, Austria, Hun-gary and Slovakia? July 21-29, 2018. If interested drop me a line and I will send you the information. [email protected]

All Souls Day: We will have a special evening mass on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 pm to remember all those who have died and especially those who have died this past year. So, mark your calendars already.

GREETERS: I can’t tell you how important this minis-try is. To have people at our doors holding them open, saying hi or good morning and smiling. It sets a tone that what we are going to is worth it. I was at a restaurant/bar in Omaha the other day (Shucks) at 19th and Leavenworth… the minute I walked in I was greeted by the folks behind the bar and told go

Guatemalan Mission: An invitation to make a short term mission trip! In June/July 2018, you will have the opportunity to join other volunteer missionaries on a 12-day trip to Huehu-etenango, Guatemala. For nearly 15 years we have had a sister-diocese relationship between the Archdiocese of Omaha and the Diocese of Huehuetenango. Missionaries who have experienced this relationship personally by travelling to Guatemala, describe the trip as “an encounter with the Living Christ” and “a pro-foundly moving” or “life changing” experience. Information Meetings on Oct. 29th, Nov. 5th, Nov. 12th, & Dec 10th, call Mark Zimmer at 402-452-4980 for time & place. Open to all adults & high school grads accompanied by adult family member.

Special Remembrance of the Dead: We are going to place 2 tables in the Sanctuary for you to place the pictures of the deceased in you family that you want to remember. Bring these pictures on the weekend of October 28th -29th. The pictures must be framed in some way, no bigger than 5x7, and able to stand up on their own. Please put you name on them so they can be returned if you forget to pick them up. These pic-tures will form a kind of Family Portrait of our Parish Members who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. We will leave these up in church and ask that you take the pictures home after Tuesday, Nov. 14. During this time we will have candles burning for the ones who have died this past year. Family mem-bers can take this candle home on Tuesday, Nov. 14th.

A special thanks to

all who helped in any way with the Fall Happening - whether you donated items, served

food, helped clean up, or just attended. It was a huge success because of you! Thank You!!
