WHAT IS OXIDATIVE STRESS? Oxidative stress is essentially an imbalance
between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to constrict detoxify their harmful effect through neutralization by antioxidants.
WHAT ARE FREE RADICALS? A free radicals molecules is an oxygen
containing molecule that has one or more unpaired electrons making it highly reactive with other molecule.
Not all reactive oxygen species are harmful to the body some of them are useful in killing invading pathogens or microbes.
However free radicals can chemically interact with cell components such as DNA protein of lipid and steal their electrons in order to become stabilized.
WHAT ARE ANTIOXIDANT? Antioxidants are molecules present in cells
that have the potential to cause seorius damage to the cell.
antioxidants are molecules present in cell that prevent these reactions by donating an electron to the free radicals without becoming destblized themselves ,
An imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants is the underlying basis of oxidative stress.
SOURCES OF ANTIOXIDANT
DAMAGE CAUSED BY OXIDATIVE STRESS?
Oxidative stress leads to many pathological conditions in .some of these include- Neurogenitics dieses such as Parkinson disease and Alzheimer dissease, gene mutation and cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, fragile x ,heart syndrome heart and blood vessel disorder atherosclerosis, heart failure ,heart attack and inflammatory disease
EFFECT OF OXIDATIVE STRESS IN HUMAN BODY
HOW CAN YOU TELL IF OXIDATIVE STRESS IS OCCURRING IN YOUR BODY
FatigueMemory loss/brain fogMuscle/or joint pain Wrinkles and grey hairDecreased eye light Headache and sensitivity to noise
HOW WE REDUCE OXIDATIVE STRESS Avoiding exposure to unnieciary oxidation and
increasing antioxidants.
THANK YOU
