MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING
Because we remember
THE BUTTERFLY…The leaves of autumn arecovered by the snows ofwinter-but the leaves willreturn in the spring. Thewaves of the sea breakupon the shore and thenslide back into the sea tobecome waves once again. There is nothing in this lifethat is without its cycle oflife, death and rebirth.
The butterfly is one ofGod's finest images of thegift of new life, emergingfrom its dark cocoon to itsnew splendor and glory, beautiful to behold andsymbolizing the magnifi-cent mystery of spring-time that out of seemingdeath comes new life.
The memory of Bill Sugrais very much like the but-terfly. He loved life and heloved each and every per-son whose life he touched. He helped us all to emergefrom our gray momentsby the light he spread withhis smile and his caringand his love. Because hecared, he lifted us up.
We chose the butterfly as asymbol on our brochuresand letterheads for the BillSugra Memorial Fundbecause of his memory westrive to bring the hopelessto hope, the discouragedto confidence, and thedepressed to new life.

It's hard to believe that this wasthe 9th Bill Sugra MemorialGolf Outing. We had a mag-nificent day, thanks to each andevery one of you! As you know,we could not do what we dowithout you.
There were many memorablemoments this year. When wearrived bright and early atGreen Pond, our event managerGregg Blaha and his stepdadJoe Barey were waiting. Joewas so supportive and pitched
right in to help. They arrivedfrom Connecticut the daybefore and we truly value theirhelp; we could not run the eventwithout them. Then BruceAldinger pulled in with his van, loaded with banners, signs, andauction items. Bruce is amazingand so graciously donated the t-shirts for our volunteers.
Our volunteers joined us next.As always, we were so blessedwith our volunteer coordina-tors, who run the registrationtable and tackle any problemsthat come up. Mickey Jarvistakes care of all the money andaccounting, while VIP special-ist Sue Kerwin (Yes, Sue is
back!) gave lots of hugs andsmiles. While Margi Ryan wasunable to attend this year, shelent a hand with all of the back-ground work to make the dayrun smoothly.
Tracy and Steven then arrivedwith "Little Bits," better knownas our granddaughter Reagan.Reagan was all smiles and wasvery excited about embarkingon her maiden voyage in thebeverage cart with Pop-Pop andMommy. She had lots of smiles
and really had fun. She lovedthe golf carts and the kids, andenjoyed the gorgeous day.
We are so blessed withSteven and Tracy. Theyare amazing parentsand speaking ofparents, guesswhat, they aree x p e c t i n gagain!!!
Words can't begin to convey ourhappiness. Tracy is due in March,so next year you will meet theyoungest addition to our family.
Steven's parents Roger andLinda Sell pulled in next, andwhat tremendous volunteersthey are. They are with us fromsun up to sun down and dowhatever we need them to do.Roger teamed up with memori-al fund committee memberChuck Collins to man the bev-erage cart, while Linda helped
out with the registration andputting contest and anythingelse that needed to be done.

Tom Kosman, who has golfedwith us every year came a littleearlier and brought his twodogs, Konan and Chaos. Hehas two mastiffs and when yousee these dogs they exude a dig-nity and grandeur, just likeTom. The dogs are good-natured, gentle and easygoing. The kids from the First Teereally enjoyed meeting the dogsand we did, too. Thanks forbringing them, Tom.
We had orange monarch butter-flies fluttering around for mostof the beautiful, sunny morn-ing. The butterfly is very specialto us, as Bill's life was like a but-terfly's. He loved life and eachand every person whose life hetouched. He helped us all to
emerge from our graymoments by the light hespread with his smile, hiscaring, and his love.
Because he cared, helifted us up. We chose thebutterfly as our symbolbecause in Bill's memory westrive to bring the hopeless tohope, the discouraged to confi-dence, and the depressed to newlife. It was an absolutely gor-geous day, thanks Billy.
In the morning for the First TeeGolf Outing we had the Kahns,an amazing family who havebeen golfing with us for eightyears. In the family are fourgirls, including Mary, Jackie, and Corrine. And this year,
they werejoined by
the youngest,eight-year old
Michaela. We also had MarkStauffer, the brother of AlexCooler who I had taught atMuhlenberg Elementary Schoolin September of 2001. Alex isnow a junior at Allen High andis doing very well. AnotherMuhlenberg student, AlexReznik, was on hand as well
We had about 30 kids fromEmbrace Your Dreams and theBoys and Girls Club of Easton,First Tee Program. We are sograteful to the golf pros who weregiving of their time and energy tohelp the children. They are JohnKulhamer, Dan Richie, BobArnts, Steve Borrelli and RobZampella. As always, it is a privi-lege to have them.

people with great ideas. Rudy Fischl'sgroup (Tony, Tom, Ken) always hasunique pictures, including last year'sbeach scene in the sand trap. Thanks,Rudy and friends.
We had another memorable moment atdinner and what a surprise. Mark Snyder, the business agent for the Plumbers Local#690 from Philadelphia and who has per-sonally golfed with us since the beginning, and the Plumber's Local (John Kanewho is the business manager), named us
as the very first recipient of their charitygolf organization. We were presentedwith a check for $3,000.
Well, words can't even begin to expressour deepest gratitude and we are humbledby their continued loyalty and dedication.Bill retired in 2004 and they are still help-ing us. That is what you call brotherhood.
As always, our family, Bill, Tracy, Steven,Reagan, and I are so thankful for all thatyou do. We were blessed this year with somany memorable moments and beautifulweather, thanks to Bill and each one of you.

We took in many beau-tiful sights and did not have even a singleday of rain the whole time we were gone.Stay tuned for further information on ourglorious trip.
In one final note, Geri (formerly Viola) andRandy Calderelli had a special marriage onSeptember 18. Congratulations Mr. andMrs. Calderelli and lots of happiness!

Thanks to all of our golfers!Without your support and dedication
to our cause we could not make a
difference in the lives of those in need.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
I don't know what we would do if wedidn't have our energetic duo, Jen andGeri, as our photographers. This yearthey separated and snapped pictures attwo different golf locations. It was awe-some because it cut the time in half forthese hard workers. We thank them asalways from the bottom of our hearts forthe exceptional job they do. Our newslet-ters wouldn't be the same without them.Just check out our pictures.
We want to thank each and every volun-teer who gave so much to help us out.Our day simply wouldn't be successfulwithout them. They come with openarms and their smiling faces. We hadabout 40 volunteers this year!
At this time, we would like to acknowl-edge our new volunteers: Joe Barey(Gregg Blaha's stepfather), Louise Davis(a very special friend who was the readingconsultant at Muhlenberg Elementaryand is recently retired), Edie Tatum (whowe know from St. Thomas More), DoeLevan (who helps with Bill at the SummerTheatre at STM), Andy Burkhardt (a dearfriend) and Betty Moch, (who is 90 yearsold and the mother of Elaine Anderson).
After the lunch, it was time for the chil-dren's awards. It is so touching and spe-cial to see the kids and their smiles. Billtalks to the kids and then their names arecalled and the children receive their cer-tificates and kidstuff books. We shakeeveryone's hand and give hugs.
As you probably know, we once againfilled the field early with 139 golfers. Wethank all of you for your loyalty and ded-ication. Let me take the time to mentionthe new people and welcome them: Jeff& Liz Goldstein, Dani Phelps, LanceEsposito, Michael & Wanda O'Brien,Maureen Cort, and then we had a fami-ly the Salezze's, Rich, Angela, Marla &Nick. Hopefully, we did not miss anyone. We hope to see you again next year.
We continue to be blessed by the love andsupport of family and friends. Every year
the Sugra's, God love their hearts, are withus. We are also blessed with our family theBisaccia's and Torres, who come fromNew York. We have Hugh Stubblefieldand his crew who come all the way fromWinchester, Virginia. Then we have Bill'sdearest friends (Dan, Ed, Greg, Mike &Kurt) who have been with us sinceSeptember 11th and Shelby, Jenn,Corinne, Carol & Ron Ressler and BigDan Schaffer. We also have the Viola's(Mike, Maryanne, Geri, Mike, Paul andAnthony). And Sam Jarvis and FrankSamer, who are the ones who got thewhole idea of the golf outing up and run-ning. We are eternally grateful for yourcontinued love, compassion and support.
VOLUNTEERS!
As the golf tournament was about to getunderway, all of our volunteers lined upto send the golfers off and wish themgood luck.
This year we had some new hole-in-oneincentives, thanks to the Scott FamilyDealerships. On hole 17 we had PaulEiffler from Ameriprise with $10,000(who has been with us for awhile) andfrom Scott we had two airline tickets to gowith the $10,000 if you got a hole-in-one.On hole 6, we had a 2010 ChevroletMalibu and on hole 15, we had Ping golfclubs. A great big thank you to Scott fam-ily dealerships and Ameriprise. We trulyhoped that someone would have gottenthat hole-in-one. Practice up golfers, nextyear will be here before you know it.
Once again, we were grateful to ServiceElectric for taking time to come to the golfouting and interview us. CourtneyMolinaro interviewed us and "Little Bits"made her momentous debut on the LehighValley Sports Scene.
After golf, an exceptional evening gotunderway, with the Community MusicJazz Ensemble (under the direction ofClifford Tracy) playing music during thecocktail hour. We had quite a few of the
parents of the students attend, and it wasso special to be able to talk and thank eachof them for bringing their children. Wethank Carolyn Clarke (executive directorof Community Music School) and herhusband James so much for enhancingour evening with this talented group ofchildren. One of the students playing wasformer Muhlenberg Elementary Schoolstudent Jaeden Muniz, and it was nice tosee him again.
The cocktail hour gave the golfers andfriends time to relax (after a day of golfingand drinking), enjoy appetizers, andcheck out the silent auction items. Thegolfers and our guests had the opportuni-ty to see a slide presentation of specialmemories of Bill (which are near and dearto our hearts). Later in the evening theyalso saw the pictures from the day's outingand had lots of laughs when they sawtheir pictures.
We were grateful for U.S. RepresentativeCharlie Dent stopping by to say hello andjoin us for dinner. We are blessed with hisfriendship, and have really developed aspecial relationship. As you may know, Itaught his daughter Kathryn atMuhlenberg Elementary in 2001 and hewas so kind and supportive during thatstressful and sad time. Jo-Jo and TonyMuir (co-chair along with FatherGambet) were also on hand.
As always, Father Gambet led us inprayer, and we did have so much to bethankful for.
We hope you realize it is because of youthat we can do this in our son's name andwe are grateful. God bless!!!!
We had a unique prize given away thisyear and it was for the most distinctivepose of the golfers. Our very first winnerswere: Matt Sugra, Sean Scalley, BrianMurphy and Steve Shultz.
