› welcomeHello all and welcome to your new Summer 2014

programme.Over the years we have worked alongside Indigo’s Pop Up Café to support transition from child to adult services. We have found that many of the Indigo members have now joined Uniting Friends and regularly attend our sessions. It is excellent to have these younger members with us as you would all agreed, however this has resulted in us not being required so often at the Pop Up Café and for this reason we are going to change our availability at Pop Up Café to every other week.I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Out There! Evening and Weekend artists who participated in the Create4Tate sessions during the last quarter. The work produced was absolutely fantastic and resulted in some being displayed at the Tate Modern art exhibition for learning disability week. I would also like to thank the artistic staff Tracey, Maria and Androlla for all their hard work, support and dedication that allowed the members to create such beautiful pieces.During June we had the opportunity to attend the LD week ‘Festival in the Park’ where our UF Radio producers Joe and Jez entertained us with some brilliant music, competitions, dancing and live broadcasts. Uniting Friends Radio done a fantastic job so thank you very much guys! They even brought in GTF’s Jay and Billy who performed live on the main stage. A great day was had by all.During the previous quarter we went to Faliraki in Rhodes where our under 30’s spent a week in the sun, it was lovely to see the new friendships being formed and the positive interactions between our members. All have reported that they had a lovely holiday. This quarter it’s the time for our over 30’s who will be going for a week in Marmaris Turkey in September. You have again selected some wonderful days out including a boat trip, the beach, steam train, a theme park and of course some fantastic shows. So without further delay take a look at your new programme and myself and the staff team look forward to seeing you all soon.
