Financial Support for Childcare

Nursery Education Funding (NEF)

All three and four year olds in Leicestershire are entitled to 15

hours of free early years learning per week for 38 weeks of the

year. You can access your 15 hours across a minimum of three days,

but no more than 10 hours in one day. Your 15 hours can be accessed

from up to two different childcare providers. You should discuss

your personal needs with your childcare provider. For further

information, on all of the above, and links to other useful websites

for parents, visit www.leics.gov.uk/family

Child Tax / Working Tax Credits

Tax credits are payments from the government to help with

everyday costs. If you are responsible for at least one child or

young person who lives with you, you may be eligible for Child Tax

Credit. If you work, but earn low wages, you may be eligible for

Working Tax Credit.

For more information, visit : www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits or ring

0845 300 3900

Childcare Vouchers

Childcare vouchers are a way of converting a proportion of your

monthly salary, before paying tax or NICs, into vouchers to help pay

for your childcare. The scheme has to be run by your employer, and

each parent is entitled to purchase vouchers worth £243 per month.

You pass your vouchers to your childcare provider, who then claims

the money back from the company who initially issued them. For

further information about childcare vouchers, talk to your employer

or contact the Family Information Service on 0116 305 6545 or

visit : www.hmrc.gov.uk/chilcare/employees-guidance

Early Years Foundation Stage

All Early Years Providers must follow the Early

Years Foundation Stage (EFYS) criteria to ensure

that children learn and develop well and are kept

healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning

to ensure children’s “school readiness” and gives

children the broad range of knowledge and skills

that provide the right foundation for good future

progress through school and life.

At Thomas Esltey Out of School Club our aim is to

compliment the learning that takes place in settings

in which children spend more time ie, school. We

have close links with the local primary schools and

will be adding to your childs Learning Journeys

within their school.

Learning Journeys

At Thomas Estley Out of School Club we have a group Learning

Journey for children and parents to look at what we have been doing.

In line with the revised Early Years

Foundation Stage guidance we plan

activities around the children’s interests.

Please chat to your child’s key person and

take time to take a look at our Group Learn-

ing Journey ( which is always on

display). Parents and children are

welcome to add certificates, awards or

pictures from home, details of clubs etc.

We are continually adding to the Learning

Journey, so please take a look and add your own comments.

Broughton Astley Children’s Centre Jill Allen 0-5yrs Family Outreach Worker

Sure Start Children's Centres offer services and information for families with children aged from 0-5. In Harborough District these services take place in a variety of locations and include health visitor clinics, stay and play sessions, family outreach support, communication support, advice from Job Centre Plus and access to family and adult learning opportunities, plus lot more! Broughton Astley Children's Centre is located on the Old Mill/Thomas Estley campus and is the base of Jill Allen the local Family Outreach Worker along with different agencies who offer services to meet local identified need, enhancing what already exists in the community.

As well as supporting some group work, Jill is able to offer support and advice to individual families with children aged under 5. This may be with personal difficulties affecting their child, behaviour, routines, accessing learning or employment, or it may be just to let families know what is going on the local area for them and their young children.

To find out more about the Children's Centre Programme in the Broughton Astley area contact Broughton Astley Children's Centre on 0116 305 7142.

The inclusion of any agency in this leaflet cannot be considered as a recommendation for their service. Information believed to be accurate at time of going to press April 2013

We would like to make you aware that we have a legal obligation to

inform the authorities if we suspect abuse. A copy of our

Safeguarding Policy is available upon request.

Procedures are in place to make referrals if necessary.

Fees

Fees are payable monthly in advance, an invoice will be issued.

We regret that we cannot make deductions for illness and days

off, as we hope you understand, the Out of School’s running costs

are continuous.

Four weeks notice is required by either party to terminate this

agreement, or a charge will be incurred. (The only exception is

when, fees are overdue. In this case the child’s place is at risk

and may be removed with immediate notice. If this situation

continues, it will be passed to County Solicitors for recovery.)

Signing Out

Please ensure your child is signed out of After School Club.

This is a record of who is in the setting should we have to
