    As you se e, w e ar e still here, andthe prospects are that we w il l stayhere until w e ha ve completed ou rt r ain ing , and then be assigned to one. of the several companies which ar estationed h er e o n t he i sl an d at Puerto Plata, Monte Cr'isto, Santo Domingo c it y, or at the fo rt here. Themen w ho a re he re now have beenher e f rom a year to two years, andthey ar e going to the States andfrom t he re t o F rance soon.Our outgoing ma il is censored now,but I ' l l try to give you as much information as poss ible about o ur t ri pdown, and cordit lons here.We left th e maneuver camp atPari s Isl and at 2.30 in t he morn ingof June 25, with a ll ou r belongingson our backs and ou r rifles on ou rshoulders. We marched six miles into the barracks and from there ship

    ped to one of t he Sou thern ports, 'where we went on board a transport.We left there at 10 o ' c l o c ~ in the morning of June 7. At 1 o'clock we losts ig ht o f l an d a nd did not see .it againuntil we passed San Salvador Islandat 3 P. M. June 9.
