LESSONS LEARNED
LESSONS LEARNED
• Think outside the box.
• There is so much room for improvement.
• It can be done!
How does the PQA helped
Tanauan City?
• PQA provided a clear benchmark where Tanauan
is in terms of organizational excellence
• The PQA criteria used patterned after Malcom Baldridge Award of the United States
looks into the whole dimension of organizational effectiveness from leadership to
operations and allotting a separate criteria into the result. The criteria made us look into
our organization from a different perspective
• If we haven’t done the PQA, it would be easy for us to think that we are doing our best
considering the different award and recognition we are already reaping, but PQA shows
us that we can do more, and the Tanaueños deserved more
• PQA made us realize that we are on the right
track
• Having applied for the PQA and received the recognition for Level 1 affirmed that what we
are doing in the City Government of Tanauan is the right way to go. Recognition such as
this serves as a morale booster to our organization, a pat on the back saying “good job”
• PQA provided an actionable report as part of its
program
• After the PQA assessment we were provided with report per category, items such as our
strengths and opportunities for improvement. As an organization espousing continual
improvement, this helped us to move forward as the report was made by high caliber
assessors and confirmed by highly esteemed members of the Board of Judges. It’s like
having a consultant looked into our organization from an outsider’s point of view and
calling the shots as it is, an impartial assessors and judges
• The report given to us became our action items on our quest to be a better organization
• PQA brought pride and honor to our City
• Other organizations, mostly private industries, looked into us with higher
respect and admiration upon knowing that we are recognized in PQA since
they know how hard and what it takes to receive such recognition
• Other government agencies and LGUs aspire to be like us, we have become
a sort of inspiration for them that if a second class city in the province can
do it, so can they
Thank You!
