Psychology and therapy can do much to assist the healing process, but ultimately it is God's domain who shares His healing gift, that a woman might forgive herself and ac-cept God's forgiveness. When psychological insight is inter-woven with a healing ministry, two worlds converge to offer the best. Call Rachel Ministries for healing and forgiveness!

"We never give more honour to Jesus than when we honour his Mother, and we honour her simply and solely to honour him all the more perfectly. We go to her only as a way leading to the goal we seek — Jesus, her Son."

What is the Annual Diocesan Appeal?
The Annual Diocesan Appeal is a dynamic opportunity for all of the faithful in the Diocese of Fort Worth to contribute for the common good and impact lives beyond the scope of any individual parish.
Its mission is to witness to God’s grace in our lives by together sharing the Gospel message of faith, hope and charity with those most in need of attention through knowing and doing all that we are called to as disciples of Christ.
Thank you for prayerfully considering your gift to the appeal.
May 10 – Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord (1st Century). This solemnity marks the completion of Jesus' mission of salvation and his triumphant entry into Heaven. Note: In many dioceses, observance of Ascension has been moved to the following Sunday.

GROWING in FAITH
Turn to Mary This month, we honor Mary, the Mother of God (and ours, too). Trust her for guidance and protection: “Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine Intercession was left unaided.” “I command you: be strong and steadfast! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9)
Dear Padre Is it acceptable for a Catholic health-care professional to be employed by a hospital that performs abor!ons, provided she has nothing to do with these procedures?
You raise an important issue about inten!onal involvement in wrongdoing, and my response extends to many other life situa!ons.
A person may work in a hospital that performs abor!ons, provided that he or she is not involved with the procedures. Because performing abor!ons is only one part of what the hospital does, a person may work there contribu!ng his or her exper!se to other areas of health care. If the circumstances were different, and the place of employment was dedicated to termina!ng pregnancies through abor!on, it would be wrong to work there.
My response is guided by the principle of coopera!on. It asserts that we may never inten!onally cooperate approvingly in the morally wrong ac!on of another person. To help another and approve of his immoral ac!on is termed formal coopera!on. Coopera!ng with another reluctantly, disapprov-ing of what he is doing, is called material coopera!on. A person may never cooperate formally in another’s wrongdoing because, in doing so, he or she also knowingly performs an immoral ac!on. Some material coopera!on may be morally jus!fied, but not if a person’s coopera!on is necessary for an immoral ac!on to occur.
The Church advises Catholics to avoid any level of moral coopera!on. While many don’t have the luxury to consider employment elsewhere, other considera!ons include: Is the individual crea!ng scandal by employment at this hospital? Has the individual made his or her moral understanding known to this hospital? ([email protected])

There is a pain!ng by Aldo Carpi (1886-1973) showing the Virgin Mary bringing the Baby Jesus to visit the poor. She doesn’t make dis!nc!ons. Mary understood that Jesus didn’t come just for the rich and powerful but for everyone.
Peter learns this lesson when speaking to Cornelius and his house-hold. Un!l this !me, the apostles were preaching to the Jewish people, but when Peter speaks to these Romans, the Holy Spirit comes upon them just as he had upon the Jews. They repent and believe. This for Peter was essen!al, because it showed that Jesus wanted to send his Spirit and teachings to everyone, not just the chosen race. God doesn’t show favori!sm.
The same goes for us. It’s natural to want to love our own: our family and those sharing our social status, poli!cal party, club, school, or parish. But our love has to spread to all peoples, espe-cially those in the most moral, material, and spiritual need. God is love, and those who love show they come from God.
Another element of love is that it is free, wan!ng nothing in re-turn. Recently, while si'ng at an outdoor café, a woman walked up and gave me a small wrapped gi$. “I like to give gi$s to com-plete strangers, just to make their day,” she said. What a beau!ful gesture.
We should also note that Cornelius accepted God’s love, was bap!zed, and began following the Way. He and his family didn’t take that free love of God for granted. They responded to it in joyful obedience. God’s generous love asks for an equally gener-ous response. —Fr. Mark Haydu, LC
Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me,so I also love you. Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
