STEWARTSHIP OF TIME AND TALENT

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10)

Last Sunday the homily was about being good stewards of God’s gift of time and talent. Below are the key themes relating to our parish renewal of time and talent, with supporting quotes from the Bible. Future bulletins will elaborate on these. Gratitude: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm 1:18-1)

Priority: “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” (Matthew 13:44)

Generosity: “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” (Luke 21:3-4)

Reward: “Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure and overflowing, will be poured into your lap.” (Luke 6:38)

Delegation: “You will surely wear yourself out, both you and these people with you. The task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone…. you should also look among all the people for able and God-fearing men, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain, and set them over the people as commanders….” (Exodus 18:18-21)

Discovery: “To each individual, the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)

Development: “Be diligent in these matters, be

absorbed in them, so that your progress may be

2017-2018 Faith Formation Registration Begins Tuesday, August 1st

All grades, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Ages 3-5) & 1st grade through High School

NEW CLASS START TIME (1st-5th only) 5:30 PM-6:45 PM

Registration forms will ONLY be available on our parish website. Please be sure your forms are typed before submitting it to the Parish Office. Payments can be made in the form of cash or check only. If this is your first time registering please submit a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate along with the registration form. Also required is a 20 minute meet and greet meeting with 1st year, 1st communion families. Please be prepared to schedule your meeting when you register. The deadline to register is September 6th .

God is real and HE wants to fill you with the fire of His love. Join us for an evening of inspiring music, enthusiastic praise, and powerful prayer that will touch your heart and change your life. The next gathering will be Friday, August 11th at 7:00 PM in the church. All are welcome!

The baby's oil and sweat glands are functioning; these help regulate body temperature. A white filmy layer covers the baby and protects her delicate skin from the surrounding amniotic fluid and from

scratches as she twists and turns. This waxy substance will be quickly absorbed into her skin soon after she is born. She can now respond to sound. Her lungs are fairly well devel-oped and she would stand a good chance of survival if born at this time.

Tuesday, August 15 is The Assumption of Mary and a holy day of obligation. Mass t imes are as f o l lows: 8:00am, 5:00pm, 7:00pm bilingual.
