Becoming Catholic – RCIA: The Journey Continues New inquirers are always welcome to come, try a session. A new group is currently forming, and you are invited to consider this journey. For information on Christian initiation or RCIA, call or email Christa.

Is There An RCIA for Children? The answer is yes! Do you have a child 7 years or older who has never been baptized or who was baptized into another Christian community of faith? Call today to find out about the process of becoming Catholic for children and youth. For information, call or email Christa.

Catholics Come Home Have you been away from the active practice of your Catholic faith? Would you like to feel more connected with your childhood faith or learn more about it as an adult?

Consider attending the Catholics Come Home process. We can assist you return to the active practice of your faith and welcome you back to the Lord’s Table. For more information contact Christa.

Become an RCIA Sponsor As a sponsor, you will be a companion for someone who is considering joining the Catholic faith. The role of a sponsor is one of spiritual companion; one who prays, listens, encourages, and walks beside another on a journey of faith. Is God calling you to a deeper relationship with Him through this fulfilling process? We ask you to pray about the possibility of stepping forward to be a sponsor. We are also looking for families to consider being “sponsor families” to accompany families throughout the process. If you are active in your faith and have a willing heart, please consider this important role. We meet on Tuesday nights, and sponsors begin their role in the Fall of 2018. Call Christa at the Parish Office to inquire.

Parish Life

Transformed by The Eucharist… Reaching Out into community

BE AN OUTREACH VOLUNTEER

The Outreach Office operates every week with a dedicated volunteer team consisting of 30 parishioners who rotate days and weeks. Even with such a large team, we could still use your help. We are in need of additional volunteer support on Mondays and Thursdays. Our office is open from 12noon until 2pm each of those days. While we would love to accommo-date whatever day of the week would work for you, right now, all teams are full and the critical need is for those who can work Monday or Thursday.

Volunteers can work as little or as much as they want. So you can commit to the day(s) you are able to give your time to each month. Some volunteers work 1 day a month, some 1 day a week, and others 2 days a week. If you are going out of town or on vacation—you simply don’t sign up for those dates on our calendar.

You must be a registered parishioner to participate in this ministry and over 18 years old.

If this seems interesting to you, and you would love to check us out and see what we are doing, please contact:

Tina at 595-0385, ext. 118 or [email protected] You can check us out, commitment free, and if it seems like a good fit for you, then let us know.

OTHER WAYS TO ASSIST OUTREACH?

Each week you and your families can commit to assisting OLMC parish in its commitment to serving those in need. As a family you can collect change or decide how much money you want to give to someone in need each week/month. For families with small children, this is a great way to talk about those we see in need throughout the city (holding signs) and maybe have a jar set up at the house where money is col-lected to assist those in the city. This is a way to connect those young people in our families with our call to action. Donate what is collected to the POOR FUND (Parish Chari-ties) Envelope each month where it can be given to those in need through our Outreach Office. If you participate in online giving—use the line item for Parish Charities, or place in an envelope marked Parish Charities in the collection. You can also participate by picking up one item off of our food pantry needs list each week, remembering to bring it to Mass with you, and dropping it off in the baskets in the Com-mons or the white bin. This is a great way to participate with the gifts that are placed before the altar.

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS Cereal, Pancake Mix/Syrup, Jelly, Fruit, Boxed Potatoes,

Rice, Macaroni n’ Cheese, Spaghetti Sauce, Canned Chicken, Spam, Crackers, and Canned Pasta

Thirst: Adoration Hour Join the Parish community on Thursday, June 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Church for an hour of adoration filled with music, prayer and reflective silence. Christ thirsts to be a part of our lives. Our souls thirst for Him. Join the Parish in responding to His desire for each one of us and come find your rest in Him!
