About IVRI Regional Station, Palampur
The Regional Station of the IVRI had its inception thon 26 January, 1959 with the objective of investigating the
animal feeding problems in the North West Himalayan
Region (NWHR) spread over H.P., J & K and the hilly areas
of Uttarakhand. In the late seventies the research mandate
was expanded to carry out detailed disease investigation and
diagnosis work as well. The approach to all research
problems continues to be interdisciplinary covering all
aspects in a very comprehensive manner from fundamental to
eld applications in complete continuity. The regional station
has a regular program of eld interactions with the farmers
for transfer of knowhow and feed back for reappraisal of the
research programs to make them up to date and need based.
The regional station has linkages and liaison with State
Agricultural University and Institute of Himalayan
Bioresource Technology (CSIR) for infrastructural facilities,
