QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough
to keep from meddling with them while they do it."
Theodore Roosevelt
IMPACT
HOUSTON
"This is the 14th year in a row God has allowed us to help serve at Impact Houston Church of Christ! It is beautiful to watch HIM work through us in so many ways. We will be door knocking, playing basketball, VBS singing, a cookout, and lov-ing on children. Thanks to this Body of Christ for praying for us and providing funds to make this trip possible.”
Our Mission in Denver is to partner with the Lakewood Church of Christ and make contact with the homeless and the runaways. Each day at noon we will serve lunch at the court house lawn where many of the homeless gather. In the afternoons we will visit local parks and hand out socks and personal hygiene items. We will close each day serving dinner at a shelter for runaways in Denver. Please pray for a successful and safe journey.
Nursery Available: For those with small babies or toddlers, attended nurseries are available. Ages birth to 24 months will be in the nursery at the end of the east hallway. NEWS & ANNOUCEMENTS
Jake & Allison Perkins
Last week the church learned that the Jake Perkins’ family plan to move to the Texas Panhandle in mid-June so he can become the preacher for the Canadian church. Although this developed rather quickly, it was not done rashly. We are sad to lose a won-derful Family Minister, dear friends and valuable servants to this congregation. Most of us are disappointed but confidently know God help us as we move forward. We believe that. We will continue to remind each other of God’s goodness in giving us this family for 5 years. Below are Jake’s responses to questions about his new work in Texas.
What brought you to Stillwater?
Allison and I were excited 4.5 years ago to come to Stillwater to follow a youth and family ministry vision set out by our elders. Moving here was like a homecoming in many ways and the idea of working in a new and excit-ing area was both a challenge and a joy.
How did this preaching opportunity develop?
A good friend of mine and former colleague, David Dun-can, gave the Canadian Church of Christ my information and they contacted me about preaching for them. At first, Allison and I didn't think too much about it but simply gave the idea some thought and prayer. Over the weeks we continually saw God's hand at work in the opportuni-ty. We finally went to visit the church and the community and we were happy with what we saw. Throughout the past few months we have slowly felt God leading us in this new direction.
When do you move?
We will head toward Canadian in mid-June and begin the new ministry of preaching shortly after we move. We are delaying our departure from Stillwater until then be-cause we want to help the teens and families launch a good summer and we especially want to go on the sum-mer mission trip in Buena Vista.
What are your heartfelt wishes for the work you are leaving in Stillwater?
We just simply want to see God glorified and we believe that will be done the more this family ministry moves to-ward building faith at home, connecting intergeneration-ally, and as it reaches to the lost. We are going to miss so many good friends in this congregation. We have had an amazing few years here, and we are sad to leave. But we trust that God will continue the good work that has been started here. We know that He is greater than any ministry, minister, person or anything else in all creation.
Family Mission Trip - “Arms of Hope”
Thank you so much church family for your generosity to
Arms of Hope. Together we raised $3900 for the moms
and children in Medina, TX. Your donation will go to
change lives, begin new life directions, and teach people
the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank You . . .

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2014
Mark your calendars for June 29, 30 and July 1, 2 for
an evening VBS. This year we will be following the
lead of our teens who are creating a VBS for a mission
trip in June. During our evening program we will use
the teens to help with skits and teaching. Volunteers
will be needed to decorate rooms, assist with class-
rooms, manage sign ups, create evening meals and
snacks, organize outreach with follow up. VBS is a
great activity to involve every-
one. Sign-up sheets will be availa-
ble in May.
