Transcript of 6512 Brantford Avenue, The Brantford Bulletin · David Shepherd, Travis Price and their teenage ......
Feb. 26 is Pink Shirt Day The origins of Pink Shirt Day began when
David Shepherd, Travis Price and their teenage
friends organized a high-school protest in Nova
Scotia to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9
boy who was being bullied [for wearing a pink
shirt]. Put on a pink shirt and come join us on
Feb. 26th @ 9:30 a.m. in the gym for our Pink Shirt
Day Assembly where we will focus on positivity and lifting others up.
Hope to see you there.
Open House, Mar. 11th (2:00 - 6:00 pm) Please mark in your calendars “Open
House, Mar. 11th” where families will be invited
into the school to review with their children what
they have been doing in class. This is an oppor-
tunity for your kids to show off and for you to ask questions. See you
all there.

Thank You Skating Drivers: Thank you to all our amazing parent drivers that helped drive our skaters for
the last few weeks. We moved away from getting expensive buses 2 years ago in
order to reduce the costs by a couple thousand dollars each year, but that cost
means that we are reliant on parents to help drive.
So thank you again for ALL those that drove...we even had parents drive that
did not even have students that were skating...AMAZING!
Parking Perpetrators: I understand that people enjoy getting that primo parking space, hey, there’s even Seinfeld episodes about it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egsdc7tZ_xc ), but I’d like to
remind just a small number of you about a simple rule we have related to parking at
Brantford… “If you arrive before 3:00 pm, find parking on the street.” Then, walk to
the school, mingle with the other parents, and enjoy the short walk back to the vehi-
cle while you talk with your child.
We still have people waiting at
the closed gate until 3:00...please
DON’T DO THIS! It causes congestion
on Brantford. Have a look at this map,
there’s lots of parking areas and it’s
good practice to teach your children
to walk a bit as well.
As well, if you are picking up in-
termediate students, please use the
back lane to pick up and go (just
don’t leave your vehicle).
Stump the Students Feel free to work with family members or on your own, and
see if you can figure it out. If you manage to solve the problem, write your answer down (show
your work please) and then put it in the “Stump the
Student” box for a chance to win a prize. Mr. Gurney will draw names of correct
guesses the following week to win a small prize and the glory of being the
“Brantford Brainiac” acknowledged on the announcements. Good luck!

8 girls only. What is the smallest possible number of vans that are
