Call to Confession: I Peter 4:7-11

“The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self- controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

Prayer of Confession in Unison:

Father, You often call Your people to go through hard trials. In our trials, you keep us by Your grace. Your grace takes many forms, including prayer. In prayer we grow in our love for You. This leads to us loving others more.

Forgive us for not loving You or our neighbor as You call us to do. Help us to use Your means of grace. May each one of us feel compelled to use our gifts to build up the body, bring You glory, and see Your power enacted through us. Thank You that You are with us and use us.

We come to You in our Savior’s name and merit. Amen.

Now hear the Lord’s Assurance of Pardon: I Peter 3:18

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

Evangel believes the Bible is the infallible word of God and forgiveness and eternal life are obtained only through God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who died as a substitute for His people.

Our objective is to exalt the moral excellence of God, to build up and sustain the faith of members, to engage in mutual service, to interpret today’s happenings in the light of God’s revelation, and to proclaim the Gospel to the world.
