The only thing better than wine, cheese and painting is the person that does all three at once and that’s Jo, our Perth-based customer service operator. While she’s quick to point out she’s only a beginner, she has a rather wonderful time sitting at the beach painting while her photographer husband takes pictures.

Jo is another staff member with an extensive background in medical supplies, originally starting out in the manufacturing side of the business in Manchester over a decade ago.

Originally recruited to Team by a friend, Jo stayed on after the friend retired and now the friend is back and they’re reunited! Jo reckons the “very chilled” and friendly atmosphere is what lured her friend Noeline back and what makes them enjoy assisting customers on the telephone so much.

When not living a picture perfect life, Jo enjoys camping, mountain biking, swimming and keeping healthy.

Noeline in our Customer Service team is another one of our retirees that couldn’t tear herself away. With a laugh Noeline says “it was so good I had to come back” and that her 18 months of retirement weren’t nearly as good as her job.

She has forged strong friendships at Team and their urging was one of the reasons she returned. Noeline is another staffer with a strong medical background and she worked as a nurse in Radiology before she started with BP Medical 7 years ago. She enjoys doing yoga in her spare time and believes her grandchildren “keep me young and happy”.

It was an extraordinary start at Team for Kellie in Customer Service because she had a family emergency in only her second week. “They definitely bent over backwards,”Kellie said and she’s been grateful ever since. Like everyone, she started out in the warehouse, which she described as a “steep learning curve”. She also says (with a grin), “you see some things that you hope will never be used on you.”

As one of the original members of the Brisbane team, Kellie has been instrumental (pardon the pun) to our success and that “people up here are talking” (and that’s a good thing). She says Team has been achieving “one step after another in an upwards direction” and that “Team’s name says it all – here your friends are the family you choose.”

One of the best things about Team Medical is our diverse staff and we’re pleased to boast that we poached our customer service operator, David, from a management career in McDonalds.

Whilst he’s still relatively new, we’re always looking for ways to improve and we are hoping he can bring across new knowledge about systems and processes. Interestingly enough, he says one of the best things about his new job with us is the lack of complaints! He should know. David has a long time career in customer service. Before going to McDonalds (and then to us) David ran his own cleaning business for nearly a decade.

He thinks the key to good service is having good listening skills and having the confidence to do exactly what the customer wants. He says a good product range is fundamental to excellent service, as well as supportive systems.

He has three young children and a love of sports and reckons “life is busy, but it’s good”.
