•  Infrastructure changes in Oracle VM Server – Upgrades the hypervisor from Xen 4.1 to Xen 4.3 – Upgrades the dom0 kernel to UEK Release 3 – Brings dom0 user space to Oracle Linux 6

• Oracle VM Server installaJon parJJoning – The Installer handles all disk parJJoning itself to opJmize installaJon. The remaining disk space can be used to host a repository or can be apached to a virtual machine.

• Diverse platorm and workload support – Windows PV Drivers 3.2.2 for Windows Server 2012 + R2, Microsov Windows 8 and 8.1 –  The 3.2.2 release is signed by Microsov –  Improved feature support for x86 environments (e.g. Huge Pages support) – Beper handling of common networking implementaJons (e.g. VLANs)

•  Infrastructure change to support larger and more diverse environments – Weblogic Server 12c – Java 7 – GUI/CLI implementaJon switched to WS-‐APIs

• Greater simplicity with the bundled MySQL Enterprise EdiJon, without dependency on an external database as the management repository

• Oracle VM Agent now uses SSL cerJficates to authenJcate requests from Oracle VM Manager once the server has been discovered.

• New VM console – Redesigned to use JavaScript and HTML5 features so that there is no requirement to install or run sovware locally on the client computer.

Oracle VM provides SAP customers with a fully supported and cerJfied virtualizaJon environment for the Oracle database.

•  Oracle Database Appliance Now Cer'fied by SAP

•  All SAP products based on SAP NetWeaver 7.x that are also cerJfied for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 can now be used with the Oracle Database Appliance. Only the Oracle database can run on the Oracle Database Appliance. No SAP instance can be deployed on the Oracle Database Appliance. SAP instances have to run on different middle-‐Jer machines of any hardware architecture and operaJng system.
