The Robert G. Mead, Jr. Travel and Study/Research Stipend

The Robert G. Mead, Jr. Travel and Study/Research Stipend provides a $1,000.00 annual scholarship and is made possible through the generous contributions of the friends and colleagues of Professor Mead and of his widow, Harriet Mead. The stipend is for travel to and study/research in a Luso-Hispanic country with a given proposal or goal in mind. The term "study" does not mean that the winner is required to enroll in a course in an institution of higher learning or any sort of school, although that may be the case. Likewise, the term “research” does not mean that the winner will need to conduct research leading to publication although that too may be the case. Other areas being equal, priority will be given to applicants without prior experience traveling or living in a Luso-Hispanic country.
