OMS Purpose & Mission - Previous

• Purpose: •  To ensure that the IAQG operates efficiently and effectively

• Mission: •  Establish an approach to identify that proposed initiatives are aligned

with the IAQG Charter - ‘to significantly improve quality and reduce costs

•  By the use of Procedure 101 and Procedure 111, ensure proposed initiatives are aligned with IAQG strategy

•  Prepare and maintain IAQG internal procedures •  Carry out checks on compliance with IAQG procedures


OMS Purpose & Mission - Changes

• The OMS Team believe these fall under the responsibility of the Strategy Working Group (SWG) and agreed to transfer to the SWG. •  Establish an approach to identify that proposed initiatives are aligned

with the IAQG Charter - ‘to significantly improve quality and reduce costs

•  By the use of Procedure 101 and Procedure 111, ensure proposed initiatives are aligned with IAQG strategy

• Discussed proposal with the SWG , receiving their agreement to accept these

Procedure Revision Approval Process

• The agreed upon procedure shall be presented to the IAQG Council by the Operating Management System Leader for their review and comment. Council members shall have a minimum of two weeks to review and comment on the procedure before being asked to approve the procedure.

• The IAQG Committee may waive the two week minimum if they wish.


Procedure Revision Approval Process •  The Operating Management System Leader shall present the procedure to

the IAQG Council for formal approval. This approval may be determined by a vote at a Council meeting in accordance with the IAQG Charter or between meetings by a documented vote.

•  4.5 Decision Making •  All Council decisions should be taken by consensus. Where this is not

possible, 17 of the 26 Council Members must be in favor of the proposal for it to be passed

•  Council Members may delegate their votes under the following conditions: •  Delegation must be to another voting member from the same Sector or to

someone from the same company. •  Delegations must be made in writing. •  A delegate must be present to vote.

•  Decisions will only be made if there is a voting quorum of 15 Council members present.
