Desde 1985, nuestro objetivo siempre ha sido ser un referente educativo en la educación, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, es decir, atender las necesidades educativas individuales de cada uno de nuestros alumnos y trabajar con nuestros niños y jóvenes para que, al terminar su educación con nosotros, estudien lo que estudien, tengan una formación en valores, actitudes y aptitudes que les haga estar en ventaja con respecto a cualquier ciudadano del mundo.

La COVID-19 ha puesto a prueba todo aquello en lo que creíamos: personas, metodología, recursos... Y tenemos que decir con orgullo que nos sentimos más que satisfechos de haber pasado esta prueba con nota. No hemos dejado ni un solo día de dar clase desde el 11 de marzo de 2020, incluso manteniendo nuestros horarios habituales.

El niño que viene hoy en día a nuestro colegio, desde E. Infantil hasta Bachillerato, está dentro de una metodología IB. Una metodología que está organizada y sincronizada año a año y que integra a alumnos y profesores de todo el centro con el modelo educativo, desarrollando así, desde pequeños, unas habilidades y aptitudes, así como unas actitudes que van a ayudar a nuestros alumnos a afrontar su futuro con garantías de éxito.

Innovación y valores tradicionales, tanto hoy como hace 35 años, nos han vuelto a dar la razón. Ya sea presencial o en formato online, lo único que sabemos hacer, y que coincide con lo que mejor sabemos hacer, es dar la mejor educación posible a sus hijos.

Since 1985, our goal has always been to be an educational inspiration at a national and international level. In other words, our main objective is to care for the individual educational needs of each and every student, and to work with our children and youth. In

this way, at the end of their education with us, regardless of what they study, they are educated in values, aptitudes and an attitude that will give them the upper hand over any other citizen of the world.

Covid-19 has tested everything we believed in: people, methodology, resources, etc. However, we are proud to say that we are satisfied to have passed the challenge with flying colors. We have continued to teach since March 11th, 2020, following our regular, daily schedules.

Nowadays, every child that comes to our school, from Pre-Primary Education through Baccalaureate, follows the IB methodology. This methodology is organized and synchronized every year and brings teachers and students from the school and the educational method together. Thus, our students develop, from a very young age, some skills, aptitudes and attitudes that will help them face their future with guaranteed success.

Innovation and traditional values of today, and dating all the way back 35 years, have really supported us in our drive for excellence. Regardless of whether we teach face-to-face or online, the only thing we know how to do, which goes hand in hand with what we excel at, is to give the best possible education to your children.

¿QUIÉNES SOMOS? ABOUT US

Historia

HistoryWe are a private mixed-sex school that was founded in 1985, when Mr Juan Yagüe, after 24 years devoted to education, made his biggest dream come true: the opening of the Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School. Two others have been added to the first: the state-subsidized private school Eurocolegio Casvi in Boadilla del Monte (2005) and Casvi International American School in Tres Cantos (2017).

Since the very beginning, we have had the newest and most cutting-edge educational tools. Our facilities have also undergone constant transformation, which hasn’t yet stopped, since we continue to grow.

Our educational project has also experienced many changes and expansions, in order to improve the students’ comprehensive and well-rounded education. New teaching methods have been added, guided by the International Baccalaureate Foundation; new languages (there are now three: English, German and Chinese); new subjects such as Technology, Programming and Robotics; and new and progressively more international experiences, like our Linguistic Exchange Program with different countries around the world.

Somos un centro privado y mixto cuya fundación se remonta a 1985, cuando D. Juan Yagüe, tras 24 años dedicado a la enseñanza, hace realidad su gran sueño: la inauguración del Colegio Privado Internacional Eurocolegio Casvi. A él se han incorporado otros dos centros: el Colegio Concertado Eurocolegio Casvi en Boadilla del Monte (2005); y Casvi International American School, en Tres Cantos (2017).

Desde el principio, se ha contado con las herramientas educativas más novedosas. Nuestras instalaciones han vivido, también, una transformación constante que no se ha detenido en la actualidad, dado que seguimos creciendo.

También han sido muchos los cambios y ampliaciones que ha vivido nuestro proyecto educativo para mejorar la educación integral de los alumnos. Se han ido incorporando nuevos métodos de enseñanza amparados por la Organización de Bachillerato Internacional; nuevos idiomas (ahora son tres: inglés, alemán y chino); nuevas asignaturas como la de Tecnología, Programación y Robótica; y nuevas experiencias cada vez más internacionales, como es nuestro Programa de Intercambios Lingüísticos con diferentes países del mundo.

El colegio tiene una estructura de Campus, formado por diferentes edificios para cada etapa educativa, con patios y parques infantiles específicos para cada una de ellas.

El cuidado y mantenimiento del Campus forma parte de la estrategia de mejora continua del centro.

Las clases se desarrollan en amplias aulas, así como en aulas desdoble para la impartición de clases a grupos reducidos.

El centro dispone de Laboratorios para diferentes usos: Física, Química, Biología y TPR. Además de Aulas específicas de Artes Visuales, Música, Informática, Sala de Juegos, Salas de Estudio y Salón de Actos. Así mismo, disponemos de comedor con cocina propia.

En cuanto a las instalaciones deportivas, cuenta con piscina climatizada de dos vasos. También con pabellón polideportivo, diferentes patios acondicionados para el deporte, pistas polideportivas exteriores, aula de psicomotricidad y parking para bicicletas.

The School has a Campus-like structure, with different buildings for each educational stage and playgrounds and parks dedicated to each of them.

The care and maintenance of the Campus are part of the center’s strategy of continuous improvement.

Lessons take place in large classrooms, as well as in divided classrooms for small groups.

The center boasts several Laboratories for various purposes: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and TPR (Technology, Programming and Robotics). There are also specific classrooms for Visual Arts, Music, Computer Science, Playroom, Study Rooms and Conference Hall. We also have a canteen in place with a kitchen of its own.

Regarding the sports facilities, we have a heated swimming pool with two basins, a sports pavilion, several yards fitted out for sports, an outdoor sports tracks, a psycho-motricity room and bicycle parking space.

The Eurocolegio Casvi International Private School has been managed, ever since the very beginning, by its founder Juan Yagüe Sevillano. It was in 1996 when his son, Juan Luis Yagüe, joined his management team as Deputy Headmaster. In 2005, he became Headmaster. The Management Team is completed by a group of professionals with long and extensive experience in Education and within the school.

The same applies to the team of teachers (25% of them teach languages, of which 45% are native teachers). All of them are professionals continuously involved in training processes, both at a national and international level, who have contributed to reach major milestones in terms of Education in our school center:

• Change to the constructivist methodology based on concepts of the International Baccalaureate.

• Development of the textbooks included on our students’ iPad, which they use as a learning tool from 5th year Primary.

• Implementation of our Linguistic Exchange Program with countries from around the world.

El Colegio Privado Internacional Eurocolegio Casvi ha estado dirigido desde sus inicios por su fundador, Juan Yagüe Sevillano. Fue en 1996 cuando se incorpora su hijo, Juan Luis Yagüe, a su equipo directivo, asumiendo labores de subdirección. En 2005, asume la Dirección General. Junto a ellos, forma parte del Equipo Directivo un grupo de profesionales con una amplia y larga experiencia en Educación y dentro del colegio.

Lo mismo sucede con su equipo de profesores (el 25% son de idiomas, de los cuales, el 45% son profesores nativos). En ambos casos se trata de profesionales involucrados de una forma continua en procesos de formación tanto nacional como internacionalmente, que han contribuido a alcanzar grandes hitos en lo que a Educación se refiere en nuestro centro escolar:

• Cambio a la metodología constructivista y basada en conceptos del Bachillerato Internacional.

• Desarrollo de los libros de texto incluidos en los iPad de nuestros alumnos, utilizados como herramienta de aprendizaje a partir de 5º E. Primaria.

• Puesta en marcha de nuestro Programa de Intercambios Lingüísticos con países de todo el mundo.

At Eurocolegio Casvi, we maximize the goals of the International Baccalaureate. We educate caring students, who are eager to learn, informed, communicators and conscious of the need to collaborate in the challenging task of making our planet a place of peace and respect in the context of mutual understanding and cross-cultural respect.

The educational process takes place within a constructivist work environment, based on the search for information using different resources such as a library, the Internet, a documentary series or a specialized journal, among others. From the early age of 3, we deal with challenges related with musical and visual arts, sports, robotics or theater, working together and applying what has been learnt to real-life situations and contexts.

There is a highly qualified team of teachers, who participate in continuous training processes and who follow the same working policy established by the philosophy of a school that has been able to understand and adapt itself to changes in society, in order to give their students, who have already become the leaders of the future, advantage when getting to University.

En Eurocolegio Casvi elevamos al máximo exponente las metas del Bachillerato Internacional. Formamos alumnos principalmente solidarios, deseosos por aprender, informados, comunicadores y conscientes de la necesidad de colaborar en la difícil tarea de conseguir que nuestro planeta sea un lugar de paz y de respeto en el marco del entendimiento mutuo y el respeto intercultural.

El proceso educativo se desarrolla dentro de un ambiente de trabajo constructivista, basado en la búsqueda de información utilizando diversidad de recursos, tales como una biblioteca, internet, un documental o una revista especializada, entre otros. Afrontamos retos, desde la temprana edad de 3 años, en artes musicales y plásticas, deporte, robótica o drama, trabajando colaborativamente y aplicando el aprendizaje, como culmen de los procesos, a situaciones y contextos reales.

En este proceso interviene un claustro de profesores altamente cualificado y en formación continua, que sigue la línea de trabajo marcada por la filosofía de un colegio que ha conseguido entender y adaptarse a los cambios que ha experimentado la sociedad, para poner a sus alumnos, que se han convertido ya en los líderes del futuro, en una situación de clara ventaja a la hora de acceder a la universidad.

From this moment on, we develop different learning and teaching approaches that, throughout the PYP and MYP programmes, turn our students into brilliant candidates to take the challenging DP (Diploma Programme).

Casvi is among the few schools in Spain that have all three IB Programmes implemented.

It is at the age of three when our students at Casvi begin their training and shape their International Baccalaureate profile. At this moment, we begin to discover and develop inquiry, expression and representation skills.

Communication is a fundamental way to relate with others and naturally develop the acquisition of the English language. During this stage, 50 % of our students’ training is conducted in English.

We also begin to deviate from the traditional learning of Mathematics to get closer and delve into them through more modern learning and reasoning-oriented methodologies.

Likewise, it is essential at this age to start the reading-writing process based on innovative methodologies, which help them achieve an appropriate level of reading comprehension that enables them to face the next stage with enough resources.

Furthermore, it is important to start the development of technological skills in programming and robotics at a very young age. To that end, we have created a career plan starting at this stage that will accompany our students until the end of the Baccalaureate.

At the same time, body, musical and artistic expression, along with swimming, are integrated into our education model in a transdisciplinary way in our inquiry programs.

Es a la edad de tres años cuando comienza en Casvi la carrera de formación y modelado del perfil Bachillerato Internacional en nuestros alumnos. Es en este momento cuando se empiezan a descubrir y desarrollar habilidades de indagación, expresión, representación…

La comunicación es un vínculo fundamental para relacionarnos y desarrollar de forma natural la adquisición de la lengua inglesa. En esta etapa, el 50% de la formación de nuestros alumnos se realiza en inglés.

Comienza un alejamiento del aprendizaje tradicional de las Matemáticas, para acercarnos y sumergirnos en ellas, mediante metodologías de aprendizaje más modernas y orientadas al razonamiento.

Igualmente, es básico comenzar en esta edad el proceso lecto-escritor, basado en metodologías más innovadoras, que ayudan a alcanzar un nivel de comprensión lectora óptimo que les facilite abordar la siguiente etapa con los recursos suficientes.

Además, es importante comenzar en edades muy tempranas el desarrollo de habilidades tecnológicas en programación y robótica. Para ello, hemos creado un plan de carrera que comienza en esta etapa y acompañará a nuestros alumnos hasta el final de Bachillerato.

Mientras, la expresión corporal, musical y artística, junto con la Natación, se integran de una forma transdisciplinar en nuestros programas de indagación.

During this stage, learning focuses mainly on the comprehensive development of our students, boosting their capacity of inquiring and discovering. At Casvi, and from the PYP (Primary Years Programme), we approach their emotional wellness and encourage them to develop their independence and responsibility regarding their learning process.

One of our primary goals is to educate people with an international mindset, so that they are not just recipients of content, but people with the habit and willingness to learn instead.

Our teaching team, committed and undergoing continuous training, plays a major role by monitoring the learning of the syllabus contents. They will do this in a transdisciplinary way and through the inquiry and development of skills and attitudes.

Two major tools help us achieve all of this:

• TECHNOLOGY. The use of the iPad as an educational tool is essential for the inquiry process. From 5th grade, students have got the textbooks uploaded onto their devices. These have been designed by Casvi teachers. We have also introduced a plan from the age of 4 until 6th year Primary, by which children develop programming and content creation skills. Finally, tools like Office 365, also favor the collective work of our teams.

• LANGUAGES. English and conversation in English are part of the daily routine inside and outside the classroom. From 5th year Primary, they start learning Chinese and German and they can take part in their first Linguistic Exchange Program (two months long) with students from different American Schools.

En esta etapa el aprendizaje se centra, fundamentalmente, en el desarrollo integral de nuestros alumnos, impulsando su capacidad para indagar y descubrir. En Casvi, y desde el PEP (Programa Escuela Primaria), abordamos su bienestar emocional y les animamos a desarrollar su independencia y responsabilidad a la hora de aprender.

Uno de nuestros objetivos fundamentales es formar personas con mentalidad internacional, que no sean meros receptores de contenidos, provocando así en ellos, el hábito y las ganas por aprender y saber más.

Para ello tiene un papel clave nuestro profesorado; comprometido y en continua formación, que llevará a cabo un seguimiento del aprendizaje de los contenidos del currículo. Lo hará de una forma transdisciplinar y mediante la indagación y el desarrollo de habilidades y actitudes.

Todo esto se consigue apoyándonos en dos tipos de herramientas principales:

• TECNOLÓGICAS. El uso en las aulas del iPad como recurso educativo es fundamental para nuestros procesos de indagación. Desde 5º E. Primaria los alumnos disponen en sus dispositivos de unos libros de texto que han sido desarrollados por los profesores del colegio. También hemos implantado un plan de carrera desde 4 años a 6º E. Primaria, con el que los niños desarrollan habilidades de programación y creación de contenidos. Por último, herramientas como el Office 365, favorecen también el trabajo colaborativo de nuestros alumnos.

• IDIOMAS. El inglés y la conversación en inglés, forman parte de la rutina diaria en las aulas y fuera de ellas. A partir de 5º E. Primaria, comienza el aprendizaje de chino y alemán, y pueden participar en su primer Intercambio Lingüístico, de dos meses de duración, con alumnos procedentes de diferentes colegios americanos.

During this stage, students develop their mental flexibility, intellectual rigor and epitomize the importance of collaboration and teamwork in the classroom.

They also learn about action and service, awareness, environment... all through the tool named “Learning through Service”, which allows students to participate in activities of community service.

• TECHNOLOGY. They can find the syllabus, designed by the teachers, on the iPad. Moreover, they take the subject of “Technology, Programming and Robotics”, which promotes skills related with app design, programming, digital design and 3D printing, and which continues with the career plan that began during the Pre-Primary stage.

• LANGUAGES. English, German and Chinese are the three languages offered at Casvi. They are taught in small groups organized according to the level, with conversation lessons given by native teachers. We also offer different Linguistic Exchange Programs with students from other countries: Germany, USA...

Es en este momento cuando desarrollan su flexibilidad mental, rigor intelectual y ejemplifican la importancia de la colaboración y el trabajo en equipo dentro del aula.

Se trabaja también la acción y el servicio, la concienciación, el medio ambiente… Todo ello a través del “Aprendizaje en Servicio”, herramienta que, mediante proyectos, posibilita a los alumnos participar en actividades de servicio a la comunidad.

Herramientas:

• TECNOLÓGICAS. Todos los alumnos de ESO disponen en sus dispositivos del currículo desarrollado por los profesores. Además, existe la asignatura de “Tecnología Programación y Robótica”, que fomenta habilidades de desarrollo en diseño de aplicaciones, programación, diseño digital e impresión 3D, y da continuidad al plan de carrera que comienza en la etapa de E. Infantil.

• IDIOMAS. Se imparten tres idiomas, inglés, chino y alemán, en grupos reducidos según nivel, y clases de conversación impartidas por profesores nativos. También se ofrecen diferentes Intercambios Lingüísticos con alumnos de otros países: Alemania, USA…

Este Programa es reconocido en todo el mundo y abre las puertas de las mejores universidades del Planeta; el destino de nuestros alumnos. Son muchos los que eligen estudiar en universidades fuera de nuestro país: London School of Economics, University of Bristol o Via University College en Herning (Dinamarca), son algunos ejemplos.

La principal característica del PD en Casvi es el carácter práctico de todas las asignaturas. En todas ellas se deben realizar trabajos de investigación similares a los que luego se tendrán que enfrentar en la Universidad.

Para conseguir el Diploma, nuestros alumnos deberán aprobar seis asignaturas de entre las que se incluyen en estos seis grupos: Estudios de Lengua y Literatura, Adquisición de Lenguas, Individuos y Sociedades, Ciencias, Matemáticas y Artes. En Casvi, sin embargo, el currículo es muy abierto. Nuestros alumnos configuran sus estudios en función de la idea que tienen sobre su futuro universitario. También existe oferta de estas asignaturas en inglés, para facilitar su estudio por parte de alumnos internacionales y permitir a los nuestros la titulación Programa Diploma Bilingüe.

Deberán realizar una monografía de 4.000 palabras; un curso de 100 horas de Teoría del Conocimiento; y proyectos de Creatividad, Actividad y Servicio (CAS). En Casvi se prepara de una forma especial a los alumnos para afrontar estos retos académicos.

La asignatura del grupo de Adquisición de Lenguas se imparte en grupos reducidos, con especial atención a la expresión oral que se trabaja con un profesor nativo.

Para ofrecer más oportunidades a nuestros alumnos, se imparten como asignaturas extracurriculares Dibujo Técnico y TIC. El objetivo es ofrecer la formación más completa de cara a su futuro universitario.

This Programme is recognized world-wide and opens the doors to the best universities of the world: the destination of our students. Many of them choose to study in foreign universities: London School of Economics, University of Bristol or Via University College in Herning (Denmark) are just a couple of examples.

The main feature of the DP at Casvi is the practical nature of all the subjects. In all of them, students must submit research papers, similar to those they will later deal with at University.

To receive the Diploma, our students must pass six subjects of those included in these six groups: Language and Literature, Foreign Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics and Arts. At Casvi, however, the curriculum is quite open. Our students customize their studies according to the idea they have about their university future. We offer these subjects in English as well, to make them easier to study for international students, and we also give our students the opportunity to achieve the certification of Bilingual Diploma Program.

They must write a 4000-word monograph, attend a 100-hour course on the Theory of Knowledge and carry out projects on Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). At Casvi, we give our students special training to face these challenges.

The subject of English Language Acquisition is organized in small groups, paying special attention to oral expression, which is practiced with a native teacher.

In order to offer even more opportunities to our students, Technical Drawing and ICT are available to choose as extracurricular subjects. The goal is to provide them with the most comprehensive training for their university future.

A key stage in which we conclude the academic training of our students so that they get to University with the best possible grades. This is possible thanks to the resources that are available to them:

• Support lessons with their own teachers outside school hours.

• Completely personalized attention through their tutors, chosen by the students themselves.

• English is taught in different levels and in small groups, with a special focus in oral expression, which is practiced with native teachers. This methodology allows them to take the Advanced or Proficiency exams from the University of Cambridge. They also attend German lessons twice a week.

• IT and Communication will enable our students to work with communication and wiring devices, develop web apps and manage databases.

• Our students also receive constant career orientation through personal interviews and our own Career Orientation Fair, which feature universities from around the world.

LanguagesTo promote internationality, our main tool is teaching three foreign languages:

• ENGLISH is taught from the age of 1 and half the teaching load during Pre-Primary Education is in English. Classes are eminently practical, with a special focus on oral and written comprehension and expression. All the work is done with native and bilingual teachers in small groups, organized according to the different levels and through the newest learning methods.

• From 5th year Primary, GERMAN AND CHINESE are compulsory subjects for all students. Likewise, these are taught in small groups with bilingual and native teachers.

Para el fomento de la internacionalidad, nuestra principal herramienta es la enseñanza de tres lenguas extranjeras:

• Se imparte INGLÉS desde 1 año, siendo la carga lectiva de este idioma en E. Infantil del 50%. Se imparte en clases eminentemente prácticas, predominando la comprensión y expresión oral y escrita. Todo trabajado en grupos reducidos, con profesores nativos y bilingües, que en ESO y Bachillerato se conforman según nivel, y mediante los métodos más novedosos de aprendizaje.

It is becoming increasingly necessary for our students to receive a cross-cultural and international education. Our Exchange Program, organized through direct contact with school centers across the world, plays a major role. It is an essential practice for complementing their comprehensive training.

• With the United States. A two-month program, available to students from 5th year Primary to 4th year Secondary. There are several destinations: Oklahoma, Minnesota, Tacoma, Virgin Islands...

• With Germany. Students live a unique international experience for two weeks. Secondary students can enjoy this great opportunity.

• With Ireland. This is a six-week program and is intended for Secondary students.

• In recent years we have also signed several framework collaboration agreements with different schools in China.

Cada vez es más necesario que nuestros alumnos se beneficien de una educación intercultural e internacional. • Con Alemania. Durante dos semanas viven una experiencia internacional única. Son alumnos de ESO los que disfrutan de esta oportunidad.

International StudentsOur International Baccalaureate methodology, which seeks globalization in the educational field, wishes for many students from around the world to come study at our school center.

• WELCOME PLAN. Through different support initiatives, Casvi provides the new international students with the necessary means so that their introduction to the school routine is as easy and efficient as possible, helping them solve any doubt or problem that may arise during the academic year.

• LANGUAGE POLICY. Our foreign students attend additional classes: Spanish for foreigners and the same courses instructed to their class group.

• ACCOMODATION. They can choose to stay at our residence hall located in the Tres Cantos campus, where they will be attended at all times by our teachers, or with families from Eurocolegio Casvi, chosen through a comprehensive selection process.

Our students have the opportunity to take English exams by the University of Cambridge from 2nd year Primary; Chinese exams by the Confucius Institute (YCT) and German exams by the Goethe Institute.

We also offer them the possibility of taking, from the age of 5, the Trinity GESE1 exams (corresponding to level PreA1 of the CEFR framework).

The high level of English our students achieve during their years at our school allows them to be prepared in the Baccalaureate stage to pass the examinations for the highest certifications of the University of Cambridge: Advanced or Proficiency..

Nuestros alumnos tienen la oportunidad de presentarse a las pruebas de inglés de la Universidad de Cambridge desde 2º E. Primaria; de chino, del Instituto Confucio (YCT); y de alemán, del Instituto Goethe.

También les ofrecemos la posibilidad de presentarse, desde los 5 años, a los exámenes GESE 1 de Trinity (se corresponde con el nivel PreA1 del marco de CEFR).

Teachers have always been responsible for finding the way to motivate students in their learning processes. Changes in society have brought new opportunities to the classroom, which allows for a dramatically open, flexible and modern teaching and learning methodology.

At Eurocolegio Casvi, students use an iPad for research tasks from the age of 3, and from 5th year Primary on, they have their own device, which becomes a basic working tool. From 5th year Primary through 4th year Secondary, the curriculum has been developed by the school teachers in the form of digital textbooks and tailored to our inquiry projects. This way, communication, project development and search of information can be immediate, as required by the skills of today’s students.

Our classrooms have undergone innovation in line with the current technological needs: now they have screens, projectors, devices for duplicating content and Internet access points.

Our intranet is part of the technological innovation of the center. Being accessible with different profiles, it contributes to the communication among parents, teachers and students, and to the realization of different academic and administrative procedures from a desktop version or an app for mobile devices.

All these resources allow both students and teachers to foster learning and to provide an answer to the most demanding teaching methodologies.

Los profesores siempre han sido los responsables de encontrar el camino para motivar a los alumnos en sus procesos de aprendizaje. Los cambios en la sociedad han propiciado nuevas oportunidades dentro del aula, que permiten enseñar y aprender de una forma espectacularmente abierta, flexible y moderna.

En Eurocolegio Casvi, los alumnos utilizan iPad para indagar desde los 3 años. A partir de 5º E. Primaria ya disponen de su propio dispositivo, que se convierte en herramienta de trabajo fundamental. El currículo desde 5º E. Primaria y hasta 4º ESO ha sido desarrollado en forma de libros digitales por los profesores del colegio y a la medida de nuestros proyectos de indagación. De esta forma conseguimos que la comunicación, desarrollo de proyectos y búsqueda de información sea inmediata, como requieren las habilidades del alumno de nuestros días.

Nuestras aulas han experimentado una innovación acorde a las necesidades tecnológicas actuales; disponen de pantallas, proyectores, dispositivos de duplicación de contenidos y puntos de acceso a internet.

Nuestra intranet, forma parte de la innovación tecnológica del centro. Accesible con diferentes perfiles, permite mantener la comunicación entre padres, profesores y alumnos, y realizar diferentes procesos académicos y administrativos desde una versión de escritorio o una app para dispositivos móviles.

Our primary goal is to increase the number of people with a vocation related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and achieve the professional development of our students. We also want to encourage their technological skills from a very young age through their introduction into the labor market.

And we do this on the basis of Robotics and the most cutting-edge programming languages used in the real-life labor world, which we have introduced in our educational curriculum.

Due to the need to sustain a strong project from the Secondary stage on, the technological training of our students begins at the age of 4.

Nuestro principal objetivo es aumentar las vocaciones STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) y lograr el desarrollo profesional de nuestros alumnos. También impulsar su competencia tecnológica desde los primeros años hasta su previa incorporación al mundo laboral.

Y lo hacemos basándonos en la Robótica y en los lenguajes de programación más punteros y utilizados en el mundo laboral real, que hemos introducido de forma pionera en nuestro currículo educativo.

Debido a la necesidad de sostener un proyecto sólido a partir de ESO, la carrera tecnológica de nuestros alumnos comienza en 4 años.

The TPR Department (Technology, Programming and Robotics) has its own technological material: 3D printers, robotics kits, BQ robots for Arduino projects, BQ boards based on Arduino technology for robotics projects, Arduino R3 boards for students in the Baccalaureate years, Linux server, XAMPP development environments with APACHE server, PHP and MySQL database manager or Android testing devices for developing mobiles apps with APP Inventor.

From 5th year Primary through 4th year Secondary, our students work with their own electronic device as another source of information within the IB methodology, thus replacing the traditional textbooks.

All the classrooms at our school have Internet connection. They also have a video projector, interactive digital blackboards, touch blackboards and Apple Tv.

Moreover, our “iPad classrooms” in which we lend the students allow them in Pre-Primary Education and the first two year of Primary to use tools that help them with inquiry through digital sources.

To ensure that the training of our students is comprehensive and so that we can encourage their musical talent, we have been pioneers in introducing some measures:

• The number of hours dedicated to music lessons, given by specialized teachers, has been increased.

• Music is taught from the First Cycle of Pre-Primary Education (from their first year of life). This allows our students, before they move on to Primary Education, to be able to create their own compositions or read simple scores with rhythms and musical notes.

• Use of a great diversity of musical instruments: pianos, drums, bass guitars, guitars (classical and electric), ukulele, Orff instruments (xylophones and small percussion)…

• Prevalence of practice over theory.

• Use of New Technologies for the development of projects.

These measures have contributed to the creation and empowerment of the CASVI MUSIC CLUB. This is an extra-curricular activity aimed at those who wish to specialize in the technical and interpretative learning of Music.

This Club features the Orchestra and the three Casv Choirs (divided according to the ages of the constituents).

Para que la formación de nuestros alumnos sea integral y podamos detectar y potenciar su talento musical, hemos sido pioneros en la introducción de una serie de medidas:

• Se ha aumentado el número de horas en las que se imparte esta materia, a cargo de profesores especialistas.

• Impartimos Música desde Primer Ciclo de Educación Infantil (desde su primer año de vida). Circunstancia que posibilita que antes de pasar a E. Primaria, nuestros alumnos sean capaces de crear sus propias composiciones o leer partituras sencillas con ritmos y notas.

• Uso de gran variedad de instrumentos: pianos, batería, bajo, guitarras (clásica y eléctrica), ukelele, instrumental Orff (xilófonos y pequeña percusión)…

• Predominio de la practicidad sobre la teoría.

• Empleo de Nuevas Tecnologías para el desarrollo de proyectos.

Medidas que han ayudado a la creación y potenciación de la ESCUELA DE MÚSICA CASVI. Actividad extraescolar dirigida a todos aquellos que quieran realizar una especialización en torno al aprendizaje técnico e interpretativo de la Música.

The subject of Visual and Plastic Arts is just as important as the rest of them. We always seek to spot and encourage their artistic talent. That is why we have been pioneers in the introduction of some measures.

• The number of class hours has been increased.

• The teachers in charge of the lessons have a degree in Fine Arts.

• During Primary, they receive their first experiences so that they can express whatever they want through new techniques and materials (work with acrylic materials, watercolors, clay, bigger formats like posters and even printing techniques).

• During Secondary, the encouragement of creativity is maximized not only for personal artistic development, but as a foundation to be applied to other subjects. For the refinement of new techniques and disciplines, we use more professional tools such as oil painting or our set of photography and illumination.

• Within the Diploma Program (DP), those students who choose Arts will develop themselves as artists materializing their inquiries in a very personal artistic project of their own, which will be conducted by the student under the teacher’s supervision. After two years of inquiry, the project will be exhibited at the end of the academic year in a surface area of a maximum of 12 meters of wall per student.

Additionally, with the aim of taking a step further in their artistic development and enhancing the skills and capabilities they work in the classroom, we offer our students our ART CLUB as an extracurricular activity, with several plastic and sculpting techniques.

La asignatura de Artes Plásticas y Visuales cuenta con un lugar igual de destacado que las demás. En todo momento, se busca la detección y el fomento de su talento artístico. Por eso hemos sido pioneros en la introducción de una serie de medidas.

• Se ha aumentado el número de horas lectivas.

• Son profesores licenciados en Bellas Artes los que se encuentran al frente de las clases.

• En E. Primaria comienzan a recibir las primeras nociones para que logren expresar lo que ellos quieren a través de nuevas técnicas y materiales (trabajos con acrílicos, acuarelas, arcillas, formatos grandes tipo cartel, incluso técnicas de estampación).

• En ESO, el fomento de la creatividad se potencia no solo como desarrollo artístico personal, sino como base para aplicarla a otras asignaturas. Para el perfeccionamiento de nuevas técnicas y disciplinas se utilizan recursos más profesionales como el óleo, en el caso de la pintura, o nuestro set de fotografía e iluminación.

• Ya dentro del Programa Diploma (IB), los alumnos que eligen Artes se van a desarrollar como artistas plasmando sus investigaciones en un proyecto artístico de creación propia, muy personal, que será dirigido por el propio alumno bajo la supervisión de su profesor. El proyecto se expondrá a final de curso, tras dos años de indagaciones, en una superficie de hasta 12 metros lineales de pared por alumno.

Así mismo, con el fin de dar un paso más en su formación artística y potenciar las habilidades y destrezas que se trabajan en clase, se ofrece a nuestros alumnos, como actividad extraescolar, nuestra ESCUELA DE ARTE, la cual ofrece diferentes técnicas plásticas y escultóricas.

In the society we live in, it is essential for our students to be able to handle being on stage; to speak in front of an “unknown” audience about what they have learned and their field of “expertise”, achieving comfort with this attribute that is as important for their futures as becoming good communicators.

Theater is the most effective tool for achieving this aim and also for putting into practice skills that are crucial for their personal development like teamwork.

At Casvi, we work on all of this at our THEATRE CLUB, with own and innovative theater productions, as well as adaptations of Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or The Little Mermaid. This club helps us detect and encourage the artistic talent among our students.

Shows are performed both in Spanish and in English and at different levels.

En la sociedad en la que vivimos, es fundamental que nuestros alumnos sean capaces de enfrentarse a un escenario; de exponer ante un público “desconocido” lo que aprenden y sobre lo que son “expertos”, alcanzando con solvencia ese atributo tan importante para su futuro como es convertirse en buenos comunicadores.

El teatro es la herramienta más eficaz para conseguirlo. También para poner en práctica habilidades tan importantes para su desarrollo personal como es el trabajo en equipo.

Desde Casvi impulsamos todo esto desde nuestra ESCUELA DE TEATRO, con producciones teatrales propias e innovadoras, además de con adaptaciones de los clásicos de Disney como es el caso de “La Bella y la Bestia”, “Frozen”, “Blancanieves y las siete enanitas” o “La Sirenita”. Escuela que nos ayuda a detectar y fomentar el talento artístico de nuestros alumnos.

It carries the banner for the sporting activity of the school. Basketball started being played at Casvi ever since its foundation, in 1985.

A major milestone worth highlighting would be the ascent to the EBA League of our senior team on 25 May 2008. Moreover, our youth academy has trained great players who, after CB Casvi, have played in teams of the ACB League, LEB Oro [Spanish League] and LEB Plata.

Therefore, it is no wonder that everyone in the Casvi Basketball Club has the dream of moving up to the first team and rubbing shoulders with the best Spanish basketball players. That is why our Basketball Club is important, gathering different registered and non-registered teams and consisting of over 120 players.

Abandera la actividad deportiva del colegio. Una disciplina que comenzó a practicarse en Casvi desde el mismo instante de su fundación, en el año 1985.

Como hito histórico resaltar el ascenso a Liga EBA de nuestro equipo senior el 25 de mayo de 2008. Además, nuestra cantera ha formado a grandes jugadores que, tras su paso por el CB Casvi, han jugado en equipos de Liga ACB, LEB Oro y LEB Plata.

Así, no es de extrañar que en el Club Baloncesto Casvi todos tengan el sueño de ascender al primer equipo y lograr codearse con los mejores jugadores del baloncesto español. De ahí la importancia de nuestra Escuela de Baloncesto, que agrupa a diferentes equipos federados y no federados, y que está formada por más de 120 jugadores.

Futsal is our biggest bet for the future and a discipline on the rise in our school center. It is proved by the fact that there is an increasing number of children in this Club, nearly 50.

Futsal is offered as an extracurricular activity for children in 3rd year Pre-Primary Education and Primary.

It fundamental goal is to promote the foundations of some sportive habits in our students. It also seeks to instill a range of values such as cooperation, teamwork, respect and fair play.

Es nuestra gran apuesta para el futuro. Una disciplina totalmente en alza en nuestro centro escolar. Cada vez son más los niños que conforman esta Escuela; cerca del medio centenar.

Se ofrece como actividad extraescolar para niños de 3º E. Infantil y E. Primaria.

El objetivo fundamental que la mueve es fomentar las bases de una serie de hábitos deportivos en nuestros alumnos. También inculcarles una serie de valores como son la cooperación, el trabajo en equipo, el respeto y el juego limpio.

7-a-side football is currently the standard adopted world-wide in competitions for young people due to its great sportive benefits. They get to kick the ball more often; they learn faster and they make more choices during the match. Moreover, concentration increases because the ball is never too far. Therefore, children are more involved in the game because they have to move and exercise more and that leads to them liking the activity better.

That is why we have introduced this sport in the Casvi Sports Club. In our case, the 7-a-side football club consists of the most experienced students of our Football Club, who are currently competing in the Móstoles league.

El Fútbol 7, en la actualidad, es el estándar adoptado a nivel mundial en las competiciones para las primeras edades por sus grandes beneficios deportivos. Tocan el balón más a menudo, aprenden más rápido y toman más decisiones a lo largo del encuentro. Además, la concentración aumenta, pues el balón nunca está muy lejos. Los niños, por tanto, se implican más en el juego, dado que deben realizar más movimientos y ejercicios, lo que lleva a que aprecien la actividad mucho más.

Es por ello por lo que se ha introducido esta disciplina deportiva entre las Escuelas Deportivas Casvi. En nuestro caso, la Escuela de Fútbol 7 está formada por los alumnos de nuestra Escuela de Fútbol con más experiencia. Compiten, en la actualidad, en ligas locales y escolares.

Swimming is included as any other activity in the school day. As a matter of fact, we were a pioneer school including this sport during school hours from the First Cycle of Pre-Primary Education.

Swimming is also promoted as an extra-curricular activity thanks to the Introductory School for Competition, for students aged 5-16. Besides improving their style in the water thanks to this initiative, they have the opportunity to live their first experiences in the world of competition.

Swimming helps our students develop physically in a different environment, using all of their muscles, which makes it one of the most complete sports.

La Natación se incluye como una actividad más dentro de la jornada escolar. De hecho, fuimos pioneros con la inclusión de la práctica de esta disciplina deportiva en horario lectivo desde Primer Ciclo de E. Infantil.

También se fomenta como actividad extraescolar gracias a la Escuela de Iniciación a la Competición, formada por alumnos de 5 a 16 años. Gracias a ella, además de perfeccionar su estilo dentro del agua, se les ofrece la posibilidad de vivir sus primeras experiencias en el mundo de la competición.

Y es que la Natación ayuda a nuestros alumnos a desarrollarse físicamente en un medio diferente, utilizando todos los músculos de su cuerpo, lo que la posiciona como uno de los deportes más completos.

Football, together with educational training, comes together in the High Performance Center so that students from all around the globe have the opportunity to play football in a professional environment. They do so while learning in an international setting like the one offered at a Casvi.

The aim of this center, which is run by Nano Rivas, an ex-professional football player and current trainer, is to teach through sports. The target audience is boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18. Its headquarters are in Madrid, which is not only one of the best cities of the world, but also home to some of the best professional football clubs at an international level. This center allows students to combine their sports growth with quality education. The objective is for them to improve their tactics, psychological and physical technique, and their knowledge of the game.

Fútbol y formación académica se unen a partes iguales en este Centro de Alto Rendimiento para que jóvenes de cualquier parte del mundo tengan la oportunidad de jugar al fútbol en un entorno profesional, a la vez que siguen formándose académicamente en un ambiente internacional como el que se vive en Eurocolegio Casvi.

Dirigido por Nano Rivas, exfutbolista profesional y actual entrenador, busca formar integralmente, a través del deporte, a niños y niñas de entre 12 y 18 años; e igual de importante, hacerlo en Madrid, en una de las mejores ciudades del mundo y con más clubes de fútbol profesional a nivel internacional. Será aquí donde combinen su crecimiento deportivo con una educación de calidad, con el objetivo de que mejoren táctica, técnica, psicológica y físicamente, además de en conocimiento de juego.

Our Guidance Department has undertaken many different psycho-pedagogical actions for the benefit of our students:

• They support the teaching and learning process in order to meet the needs of the students.

• They focus on the early identification of students with a development delay in the different development areas during Pre-Primary Education.

• They attend to and advise families, teachers and students.

• They perform psycho-pedagogical assessments and offer advice to parents and teachers to tackle the different learning difficulties of the students.

• They recognize students with high intellectual capabilities and advice teachers to plan their differentiated instruction accordingly.

• They offer pedagogical advice to the school center.

• They guarantee equal opportunities for accessing, remaining and progressing in the educational system.

• They facilitate social and educational integration.

• They pay special attention to foreign students who cannot speak Spanish and who have a significant achievement gap.

• They promote the positive aspects of diversity.

Son muchas y variadas las actuaciones psicopedagógicas que nuestro Departamento de Orientación pone en marcha en beneficio de nuestros alumnos:

• Apoya al proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje para atender las necesidades del alumnado.

• Realiza la detección temprana de alumnos con retraso madurativo en las diferentes áreas del desarrollo de Educación Infantil.

• Atiende y asesora a familias, profesores y alumnos.

Among our primary goals is that of making our students think, namely about their professional vocation, so that it can guide and stimulate them during their time in Secondary and Baccalaureate All of this will help them focus their steps toward the most appropriate choice regarding university, which will help them become leaders for the globalized world they will have to face.

Thus, vocational guidance is available at Casvi starting Secondary, helping our students realize their full potential, vocations, professional interests and the possibilities available in the outer world. To that end, the Guidance Department has a personal interview with each and every student in 3rd and 4th year Secondary and 2nd year Baccalaureate to offer them guidance and help in their decision-making process.

Every January, we also organize a Career Orientation Fair at our school center for our students in 4th year Secondary and Baccalaureate. In its most recent edition, we featured over forty public and private universities, both national and international.

Entre nuestros principales objetivos está el fomentar la reflexión de nuestros alumnos en lo que respecta a su vocación profesional, y que esto les sirva como guía y estímulo en su paso por ESO y Bachillerato. Todo con el fin de lograr encaminar sus pasos hacia una elección universitaria más acertada, que les ayude a convertirse en los líderes del mundo globalizado al que se van a tener que enfrentar.

Así, la Orientación Vocacional se realiza en Casvi desde ESO, de tal forma que nuestros alumnos puedan conocer su potencial, vocación, intereses profesionales y posibilidades que ofrece el mundo externo. Para ello, el Departamento de Orientación mantiene una entrevista individual con todos y cada uno de los alumnos de 3º y 4º ESO y 2º Bachillerato, para guiarles y ayudarles en la toma de decisiones.

Cada mes de enero se organiza también en nuestras propias instalaciones, una Feria de Orientación Universitaria en la que participan nuestros alumnos de 4º ESO, y 1º y 2º de Bachillerato. En la última edición, contamos con más de cuarenta universidades públicas y privadas, tanto nacionales como internacionales.

It is quite common at our school for many parents that live in other areas to choose us for the education of their children.

In order to make the transfers easier for them, we offer different bus routes: Madrid, Arroyomolinos, Alcorcón, Getafe, Leganés, Fuenlabrada, Móstoles, Navalcarnero, Sevilla la Nueva, Boadilla del Monte, Villaviciosa de Odón or Griñón, among others.

In each and every one of these routes, our students are accompanied by a teacher at all times.

Entra dentro de la cotidianeidad de nuestro centro escolar que padres de alumnos de otras poblaciones nos elijan como opción para la educación de sus hijos.

Con el fin de facilitarles los desplazamientos, disponemos de rutas escolares con destinos muy variados: Madrid, Arroyomolinos, Alcorcón, Getafe, Leganés, Fuenlabrada, Móstoles, Navalcarnero, Sevilla la Nueva, Boadilla del Monte, Villaviciosa de Odón o Griñón, entre otros.

En todas y cada una de estas rutas, nuestros alumnos van siempre acompañados por un monitor responsable que es profesor también del colegio.

School Bus RoutesThe menus, based on the Mediterranean diet, are planned by expert nutritionists and cooked in our kitchen by the center’s own staff, who are always willing to expand their knowledge and training.

Besides the daily menu, there is an alternative menu for students who follow a specific diet, as well as for those with special requirements, paying special attention to food allergies.

The tutors and teachers of the pupils themselves are also in charge of supervising this service. Because education in values is also important during meals.

Los menús, basados en la dieta mediterránea, están confeccionados por expertos nutricionistas y elaborados en nuestra cocina por personal propio del centro. Personal que está en continuo proceso de innovación y formación.

Además del menú diario, cada día se prepara un menú alternativo para los alumnos que siguen una dieta especial, haciendo hincapié en las alergias alimenticias.

Son los propios tutores y profesores de los alumnos los que también se encargan de supervisar este servicio. Y es que la educación en valores también se realiza durante el tiempo destinado al servicio de comedor.

Families that so wish can benefit from the extended schedule both in the mornings (7:30 AM - 9:00 AM with breakfast) and in the afternoons (5:00 PM - 6:00 PM).

This service is completely free and supervised at all times by the school’s teaching staff.

Las familias que así lo deseen pueden hacer uso del horario ampliado tanto por la mañana (7:30h a 9:00h con desayuno para los más pequeños), como por la tarde (17:00h a 18:00h).

El servicio es totalmente gratuito y es supervisado, en todo momento, por el personal docente de nuestro centro escolar.

Extended ScheduleOur goal focuses on the comprehensive education of our students. That is why the education we offer at Eurocolegio Casvi does not stop at the end of the classes or the school day.

We organize many activities that help us promote the development of much needed skills for the students to face the globalized society of the future, broaden their knowledge or acquire values to become better people.

Some of these initiatives include: ski week, cultural trip to Italy, Christmas party, Grandparents’ party, end-of-year party, graduations or communions at our school center.

Nuestro objetivo está focalizado en la educación integral de nuestros alumnos. Por eso, la educación que ofrecemos desde Eurocolegio Casvi no termina cuando concluyen las clases o el horario escolar.

Son muchas las actividades que organizamos para fomentar el desarrollo de habilidades muy necesarias para enfrentarse a la sociedad globalizada del futuro; ampliar sus conocimientos; o adquirir valores que les convierta en mejores personas.

Es el caso de la Semana Blanca, el Viaje Cultural a Italia, la Fiesta de Navidad, la Fiesta de los Abuelos, la Fiesta de Fin de Curso, las Graduaciones, o la celebración en nuestro centro escolar de las Comuniones.

At Eurocolegio Casvi we have always been conscious of our commitment to the comprehensive training of our students, in which social engagement and education in values should have a prominent place.

It was in 2006 when the foundations were laid for the birth of the Casvi Foundation. For its first project, the foundation staff traveled to Piura (Peru), to build a three-story building using funds sent from Casvi. Today, the building houses an Occupational Training Center. It offers training in fields such as hospitality, painting, ceramics, textiles work, hairdressing, embroidery, computer skills... The building has also a canteen where 140 people are fed daily, among them children and elderly people with no resources.

The foundation also collaborates with other organizations such as Cáritas in its food collection program.

But our work does not end there. At present, we keep on thinking about and undertaking new solidarity projects and activities to continue to build a better world for those who need it the most.

En Eurocolegio Casvi siempre hemos sido conscientes de nuestro compromiso con la formación integral de nuestros alumnos, en la que deben ocupar un lugar principal el compromiso social y la formación en valores.

Fue en 2006 cuando se pusieron los cimientos para el nacimiento de la Fundación Casvi. En su primer proyecto se viajó hasta Piura (Perú) para la construcción, con fondos enviados desde Casvi, de un edificio de tres plantas. A día de hoy, acoge un Centro de Formación Ocupacional. En él se ofrecen especialidades como hostelería, pintura, cerámica, confección, peluquería, bordados, informática… El edificio también cuenta con un comedor en el que se alimentan diariamente 140 personas, entre ellos niños y ancianos sin recursos.

Además, se colabora con otras asociaciones como Cáritas en la recogida de alimentos.

Pero nuestro trabajo no termina ahí. En la actualidad, proseguimos pensando y realizando nuevos proyectos y actividades solidarias para seguir construyendo un mundo mejor para los que más lo necesitan.
