Parent Connectxp
NCS Pearson product
One Vision • One Mission • One Common Purpose
• In an effort to better serve the parents of Richland One, the school district has purchased and is implementing Parent Connectxp.
• ParentConnectxp is a convenient home-to-school collaboration tool that allows parent/guardians to keep track of their children's school information and get more involved with their child's day to day education.
Why implement Parent Connectxp?
One Vision • One Mission • One Common Purpose
Features: •Single login for family with students attending multiple schools in attendance areas. •Ability to subscribe to receive automatic email notifications of unexcused absences, missing assignments, or failing grades.
•View class schedule. •View in-process grades, test/quiz scores, homework grades and project work. •View upcoming assignments and test dates.
•View report card grades. •View GPA/class rank. •View course history.
•View attendance records.
•View important school announcements. •View your school's personnel contact information. •Select direct e-mail links to teachers and other school personnel.
What can parents see?
One Vision • One Mission • One Common Purpose
• Without a personal visit with photo id, any third party could call the school and claim to be a parent and ask for a User ID and password and gain access to a child’s personal data.
• No passwords will be given out over the phone. This procedure is in place to protect the release of student data and is the same for requesting student records.
Why photo identification and site visit?

Attendance
One Vision • One Mission • One Common Purpose
• Have Database Specialist keep SASI data up-to-date with latest student changes (i.e., enrollments, transfers, withdrawals, etc.).
• Have the Parent Connect contact visit the Parent Connect website periodically and use the school administrative account to randomly check if student's updated information is in place (i.e., grades and attendance).
• Have school administration determine the deadline schedule for teachers to have gradebooks updated and communicate this to parents to clarify expectations.
School Responsibilities
One Vision • One Mission • One Common Purpose
• DO NOT create additional gradebooks as Parent Connect will not post anything for a teacher that has more than one gradebook.
• Entering major assignments and tests prior to due date for parent communication
• Entering correct due dates for all assignments and keeping their IGPro gradebooks up-to-date with current grades
• Maintaining the "Current Grade Spreadsheet" defined for the current 9-week term
• Entering notes/comments for assignments (you can put a web address for your SharpSchool page for downloads)
• Checking for updates in class rosters (student lists) in their IGPro gradebooks
• Notifying the Database Specialist of any changes that do not reflect in their gradebooks.
