Following a diagnosis of cancer in 2016, 89-year old Maxine was faced with many life-changing decisions. Could she continue living in her own home with the struggles she was soon to be
facing, and could she manage to navigate the stairs and hallways throughout her home of 46 years?
With the help of her local Area Agency on Aging, Maxine has been able to continue her comfortable life at home. She received several pieces of safety equipment to aide her around the home. Grab bars were installed in the bathroom and throughout her home. A toilet riser, shower bench, and non-slip mats helped her with her daily bathing routines; a seated, wheeled walker helps with mobility and stability on her feet; and periodic visits with her care coordination team have ensured Maxine’s well-being and safety.
Maxine is so thankful for the many services that enable seniors like her to remain happily at home. She was just One Incident Away!
