Ogden Baptist Welcomes Pastor Nicole

Iaquinto as our full time Pastor !

Hello, my new friends in Christ! Words can’t describe how excited I am to start off the

New Year as your new Senior Pastor. From the moment I started speaking with your pastoral search committee

last year, I felt a significant connection with this church. There’s a strong sense of love and family here, and I already feel like I’m part of that. We have so much to learn from one another, and so much room to grow in faith together. This is a new year, a chance for a fresh start, and the beginning of many opportunities to serve

as the hands and feet of Christ together. I look forward to ministering with you in 2018. There’s so much to talk about, and so much to do! I want to

know more about what your goals are as a church, and your dreams for the future. My goal is to spend time visiting with the various boards and groups over the next few months, and doing a lot of listening. It’s also important for me to get to know each of you. I’d love to chat with you during week. Feel free to drop in during open office hours, which will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm. (Weather permitting!) I'm also available to

Pastor Nicole

Nicole served as Assistant Pastor for Community Outreach at Greece Baptist Church from May 2015- December 2017 and joined the Ogden Baptist

Church family in January of 2018. She is currently a candidate for ordination in the Rochester Genesee Region of American Baptist Churches USA and

serves on the region's Executive Board. Ministry is her primary passion, but in her free time she enjoys pondering theology, fussing with her houseplants, knitting, cross stitching, reading, writing

poetry, listening to her record collection (her favorite band is The Beatles), hanging out with her black cat, Van Helsing,

Ogden Baptist bids loving farewell to Pastor

Nancy on December 31!

Pastor Nancy reminded us all that we are Christian prisms who will begin 2018 by pinging, zinging and sparkling! Those who braved the weather and snowy roads on New Years Eve for Pastor Nancy’s going

away reception were rewarded with cake warm hugs and a bittersweet goodbye.

Good Luck and Safe Travels to Pastor Nancy!

OBC Choir & Music News

There are hymn request forms in the back and front of the church. If you have a favorite hymn suggestion or choir anthem request don’t hesitate to let Suzy know!

Choir practice every Wednesday evening from 7p-8p in the Choir room!

Interested in getting involved with the OBC Choir? Have a musical talent or gift you’d like to share? E-mail the office

Doris has received the reports and is working on editing and compiling them for print and distribution! Thank you to all

board members who submitted their reports in a timely

manner! It is greatly appreciated! Review of the Reports will be Jan 28 at our

Annual Meeting.

Children circle up to pray on Christmas Eve for our Candlelight Service

KidzMin Moment

We finished our Advent Studies up and spent most of

December preparing for our Children’s Christmas Pageant,

this year we had a total of 17 children participate and were

so excited and proud of all the new readers who were able to

deliver their lines. Kicking off 2018 on January 7th we will

revisit a story of renewal and rebirth (fitting for 2018) as we

study the Baptism of Jesus Christ.

This Month The Spotlight shines on

Addison Lee, Lincoln Cole, and

Heidi Feuerherm each whom did a lovely

job showing the light of God as they

shared the

scripture readings with us this Fall as our first

Youth-Lay Readers! Great Job you three! We hope to

continue the rotation and add some new faces to the

ministry in 2018 following your great examples!

Wednesday Night

Faith Discovery Fun was had by all on December 27th as we

gathered for our Happy Birthday Jesus Party where we

made

Gingerbread playdough and watched The Nativity

Story as told by the Superbook Kids! Speeding right on

through Advent we have re-entered the Old Testament

as of January 3 with an introduction to 1 and 2 Samuel

which will carry us into our study on the Book of Kings!
