Wood Glen Property Owners Association Newsletter - September 2008 Official Publication of the Wood Glen Property Owners Association September 2008 - Volume 2, Issue 9 Welcome, New WGPOA Volunteers Welcome to the new Wood Glen POAvolunteers. Several residents have answered the call to help out in the following areas: Pool Committee Co Chairs: • Mike Hassel [email protected] [email protected] • Rick Barron [email protected] Communications Committee Chair: • Kim Perez [email protected] Social Committee Co-Chairs: • Cynthia McGuire [email protected] • Crystal Marek [email protected] In addition, we have a new interim President replacing outgoing President Grace Capwell. Please welcome Ms. Donna Tucker, currently Section 5 representative as our new interim President of the WGPOA. These names and their contact information also is available online at www.woodglen.org Please give them your complete support to maintain the superb Wood Glen reputation and property values. Wood Glen Yard-of-the-Month Winners Congratulations to our AUGUST Yard-of-the-Month winners: the Kenny Family at 2675 Henley Drive. They won a $50 home improvement gift card. The landscaping committee recognizes one property owner per month who showcases the best front yard landscaping. President’s Letter I hope you had a fantastic summer despite the heat! With temps over 100 degrees so much of the time, you have to be in the water to survive it. Many residents have done just that at the Wood Glen pool. The new pool furniture is a big hit. It looks good and so far nothing is broken! Please help the neighborhood out by reporting any problems at the pool as soon as you see any. Another area where I believe we’ve broken all records is the amount of wildlife in the greenbelt areas. As you recall, we’ve had issues with rattlesnakes, skunks, pigs, deer, a large wildcat of some kind, and much more. It’s been a strong reminder that as much as we enjoy our trails and greenbelts, they also belong to the wildlife. That is, REAL wildlife, not pets behind a fence. If you spot anything new, please report it and let us know. Speaking of reports, we get a lot of complaints about street parking. As our neighborhood matures and families grow up, there tends to be more drivers under one roof. As a result, our streets host many more vehicles than when Wood Glen initially opened. We will run a full article on the issue next month so you get educated… if you are not already…about the laws set forth by the City of Round Rock who owns the streets and the Wood Glen Covenants, our formal deed restrictions, which include parking policies that apply to garages and driveways. I’m happy to report this issue that we have several new volunteers to take over some key spots. I am deeply grateful for their time and efforts, in advance. See the article in this issue. However, there’s always more work to get done, so please speak up if you can lend a hand. It’s gratifying to know I’m leaving the WGPOA in good hands upon my stepping down. As I mentioned in last month’s issue, my Presidential tenure is up in August. I’ll continue to be involved, especially making a smooth transition for our interim President, Ms. Donna Tucker. Please support her and the Board to carry on in the best interest of this wonderful neighborhood. Best regards, Grace Capwell Don’t want to wait for the mail?
