[email protected] or 657-4400 Letter From The President Dear all, Hope your holiday season was wonderful. We are now in what I call “reading season”….my time of the year when I enjoy a hot cup of tea or cocoa and a good book or nursery catalog. The board continues to consider what we need to do with the rock wall…yes, we are tired of hearing about it too! But, with Highway 3406 expansion ahead of us, the potential is that we don’t have to spend your money on it. If TXDOT decides to put up the higher sound deadening kind of wall, that will benefit the whole neighborhood and leave funds for other improvements! We are always looking for WIN/WIN solutions! Speaking of that, in December there was a bit in the national news about a retired decorated army officer 90 years of age who challenged his neighborhood HOA to give him an exception so that he could have a tall flag pole in his yard instead of mounting the pole on his house or garage per the deed restrictions. He was granted the exception. Was that good or bad? Who WON? Not going to pass judgment…because I don’t have all of the facts. I do know that some folks have a negative view of their “HOA” or “POA” as we have. BUT, that situation made me think about a concept for Wood Glen. WGPOA is all of us. We all, like Col. Barfoot of Richmond, Virginia, want exceptions on occasion; however, we all like him, signed legal documents agreeing to abide by those covenants and restrictions applied to all properties within Wood Glen. I am so pleased to be working with a group of people on the board who realize that we need to reasonably but objectively enforce all of the deed restrictions in a businesslike manner so that every home owner in Wood Glen benefits from a WIN/WIN approach. Thank you all for understanding and for working with us to keep Wood Glen friendly, safe, beautiful and the best neighborhood in the best city in the best state! Enjoy your cocoa….and think about stepping up to the plate to serve with the WGPOA Board of Directors. At this writing, we need representatives for Sections One, Three and Four…so if you enjoy visiting with neighbors, problem solving and could attend a meeting once a month, please contact me through woodglen.org from the Board of Directors page in the Resident Resources section. Yours, Donna Tucker

Save the date!Second Annual Wood Glen Wine Tasting

Due to public demand and the excellent response we had last year, we had to have a repeat!

Mark your calendars for February 20th for the above event. We will start at 7:00 pm with casual sipping of assorted wines and around 7:45 move on to the more serious stuff. This year's theme will be on the Napa and Sonoma Valley's of California.

Once again, Byron Caffey, a local wine expert who regularly holds tastings and teaches classes at The Grapevine Market will guide us through the wines of these

regions. There will be a nominal fee of $7.50 per person. As this event requires

some planning to purchase enough wine, reservations will need to made ahead of time. You may email Cynthia Maguire at [email protected] to reserve your space.

Tickets will be sold on Saturday January 24th, at the Amenity Center from 1:00 to 2:30. Cash and checks only, please.

Location of the fabulous event is to be determined as well. If you would be interested in hosting please contact Cynthia at 657-4400.

Finally, if you would like to bring an appetizer to share, that would be most welcome. We had some very delicious delicacies last year!

This is an adult only event, so line up those babysitters if needed!Cheers!

Choose the Doctors who choose St. David’s.

Just as moms-to-be have a choice of physicians, their physicians have a choice of hospitals. They choose the one they know provides the best patient care. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is chosen more often than any other health care facility in Williamson County. This is a trust we don’t take lightly.

Physicians share our commitment to exceptional care for any type of delivery, whether in our family birthing suites or Cesarean section surgical suites.

They know that should an emergency arise, we are prepared with superior facilities and support staff. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) are staffed

by highly-skilled neonatalogists, specially-trained neonatal nurses and nurses experienced in all aspects of newborn care.

As a member of St. David’s HealthCare, we provide care to more mothers and their babies than any other health-care system in Central Texas.

If you need help choosing a physician, our free physician referral service can help you find an obstretician and

pediatrician to meet your family’s needs.
