Inter-School Debating for school students

The management, staff and students of Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao School, organised a two day Inter- School Debating Event, “The Battle-On” that was held on the 28th and 29th of October 2015.

The Debating event is being conducted for the past few years and over 300 students from 32 schools from various cities have been taking par t in the event. This has been a platform for students to discuss topics of impor tance and the pressing issues in various fields.

The final debating topic was “The Indian Juvenile Justice Bill seeking to equate 16 to 18 year olds committing heinous crimes with adult criminals, is unjustified”. Bhavans Rajaji Vidhyasharam, Chennai was the winner of the Battle-On 2015 and Bhavans Vidhya Mandir, Eranakulam was the runners up.

The chief guest for the inauguration function of ‘The Battle-On 2015’ was Mrs. C. Prema Kumar, Correspondent of Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao School, Lady Andal House of Children and Sir Mutha School.The valedictory function was pres ided over by the fo rmer Un ion Min is te r P.Chidambaram. He appreciated the effor ts of the students for keeping the ar t of debating alive. Indian Bank Net profit-in Q2 up by 71.5% as against Q1

Indian Bank, in a press release, has announced that the Net Profit of the B a n k g r e w t o `369.30 crore in Q2 of FY 2015-16 (recording a q-o-q growth of 71.5 per cent) as against

`215.28 crore in Q1 of FY 2015-16.

Other income recorded a q-o-q growth of 16.5 per cent to `437.48 crore as against `375.56 crore.

convocation in Chennai on 7th November 2015 and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed the young graduates said that it is an excit ing t ime for India as the country is the most happening place on the globe today.
