This text and many others encourage us that the older (read as spiritually mature) should always lead the younger by directing their focus on God’s provision through Jesus. C.S. Lewis once penned a thought, abridged by Dr Richard Edlin, which says: “We don’t spend all of our time looking at the Sun, but rather we look at everything through the light that the Son provides”. We celebrate the successes and achievements this year and grieve the disappointment and losses which some have endured. I pray that we will be able to see the glory of the Son of God, as we remember the humble manner in which He came to earth in order to restore our relationship with a Holy God.
