Homeless Outreach – bring sample size or hotel shampoos and soap and
place in box on the credenza across from Sonja’s office. These will be
given to area homeless shelters.
Food Pantry – Anyone in need, either temporarily or regularly, may visit the
Pantry on Mondays from 3:30 – 5:30pm. Donations are accepted at the church
office. Items most needed: rice, canned fruit, black beans, juices, tomato
products, & bread.
Nail Benders meet on an as needed basis to go paint, build, clean, and
landscape for those in our community who need help. If you want to get involved
call the church.
Life Challenge is a Christian Discipleship Program created to help people with
life controlling issues. We can help fund this program by providing gently-used
clothing, household items, and small furniture for their Resale Shop in
Dillsboro. Please bring your items to the church.
Sunday School – The youth meet downstairs each Sunday at 9:45am. Each
week the “LiNC” curriculum, youth connecting faith to life, provides us with a
new topic of study utilizing current events and topics.
High School Bible Study ~ All 9-12th graders are invited each Sunday
evening from 5:30-7pm for dinner and a study. All are welcome! Invite a
friend!!
NEW ~ Middle School Bible Study has arrived!!! All 6-8th graders
are invited for dinner at 5:30 and a study from 6-7pm each Sunday. All youth
will eat together and then break into their individually geared Bible study.
Wednesday After School ~ 6 th thru 12
th graders are invited to come to
HUMC after school for a time of homework, fellowship, and fun. Dinner is
served each Wednesday at 5:15. Immediately following dinner we will
reconvene in the youth room for exciting, thought provoking activities and a
study until 7:15pm.

• Buck’s class (starts at 9:30 at Buck’s Coffee Shop) is studying “The
Early Christian Letters for Everyone”, a study of James, Peter, John, &
Judah by N.T. Wright. Led by Wiley & Sarah Sloan & Fred & Elizabeth
Motz.
• Seekers are currently studying the book of Exodus. (meets in the Board
Room) Led by Bob Gregory
• Abundant Life is currently studying the book of Luke. (meets in the
parlor) Facilitated by Coach Butch Smart & Jan Potts
• Over & Under 50 Disciples is studying: “Looking at the Old
Testament through History and Archeology”. Led by Ken Bowser.
Sunday School ~ Elementary students meet with Mr. Luke & Pre-Schoolers
meet with Miss Bobbie & Mr. Cotton at 9:45am.
3,4,5 Gang will meet on Sunday, February 3 from 4-5:00pm. Tay and
Tamara Bronaugh will lead this exciting time of learning, fellowship, and fun
with activities and studies that incorporate learning with games and mission
outreach. Hope to see you there. Invite a friend!!

Community After School Program ~ On Mondays children have the
opportunity for art enrichment at The Bascom; Tuesdays they go to the
Episcopal Church; and Wednesdays they come to HUMC for snack,
homework, playtime, and music. The Wednesday Children’s Choir at HUMC
meets from 3:30-4:15pm.
Needed: Sizes 5 & 6 boys’ diapers (Pampers brand). Please bring to the
church office.
Needed: Egg cartons and plastic grocery bags for the Food Pantry. Please
bring to the church office. Thank you.
Needed: We have a family in the community in need of a pack n play crib and
car seat. If you have one to donate please call the church office. Thank you.
Sole Hope - Ann Marie Crowe and Highlands School FCA will have a Sole Hope
shoe cutting party here on Sunday, February 3, from 3:30-5:30. If you would like
to sponsor a student in this event, please see Ann Marie Crowe or Jennifer
Forrester for details. Sole Hope is a mission organization that makes shoes for the
children of Africa that do not have shoes. This is a mission project of our very own
Ann Marie Crowe. Thank you for your support!!
